Hello everyone!
I grew up in the countryside just outside Florence, Italy. I was born and bought up here and am bilingual in Italian and English. I speak some French too as I lived in Paris for about a year and a half as an Au pair and studying abroad history and history of art. I grew up with three sisters and a brother in an old house with its own land for cultivation of olive trees and vegetables so I am used to family cooking, general housework and garden maintenance tasks. In 2022 I completed my first degree in Italian Studies at the University of Bologna in Italy and I'm currently enrolled in a masters of Literature, Philology and Italian Linguistics, and have decided to travel around a bit while I study for my exams.
Since 2018 Workaway has been a goal of mine each summer, the cultural exchange and the immersive nature of this community really inspired me and taught me many skills and gave me friends for life! I rave about this community to all my friends and think it's such a valuable way of traveling especially when hosts equally appreciate the workaway experience.
I've done two workaways in Scotland the first one North of Inverness and the second one on the Island of Gigha in the Southern Hebrides, both of which I enjoyed immensely. On Gigha I worked in the only hotel of the island sometimes making beds and cleaning rooms and sometimes helping in the busy kitchen for their wonderful restaurant. My other Scottish workaway experience involved building a garden wall and help planting flowers and vegetables with my wonderful hosts.
In April 2018 I went to a coastal village north of St Petersburg in Russia where I taught English and helped with general maintenance tasks such as painting floors and staircases and even helping with clearing the roads from snow!
Last summer I was in Ireland working on a gorgeous Georgian house waterproofing and tiling three bathrooms with the help of a professional tiler and I also helped build a chicken coop setting up the fence as well as other odd jobs around the garden.
I also have many years of experience with babysitting, language teaching and in museum curation during which I enjoyed meeting and guiding the public so I would be very glad to help with catering and welcoming guests!
I am also very interested in photography, cinema production and environmental awareness (especially connected to marine life), publishing and editing, renovating and DIY projects.
Workaway to me means being able to seek out for experiences with people from different lifestyles and learning new skills !

Stunning landscape and drammatic weather!
They were most welcoming and I soon felt at home.
I enjoyed often working together with Karen and Mel as a small team!
