Description

I'm Rachel, 34 from a place called Cardigan in West Wales.
Looking to gain further experience sailing. ⛵
Previous experience includes:- cooking, waitressing, childminding on board a sail yacht. I have also done boat delivery in the UK ( not as fun as being somehwhere warm and tropical 🐠 )
I love to be out on the water, there is a deep calm on the ocean and a pace of life that I really appreciate.
My previous workaway experience involved teaching English to children in Manila for Connect Minds 4 Change, a European charity. I loved my time there which involved a lot of singing, running around and making paper aeroplanes & boats. I was meant to be the teacher, but the life lessons I took from that time enriched me more than they will ever know. My time spent with the children in Manila was truly a moment in time I will cherish forever.
Im a good cook and enjoy experimenting with Asian cuisines and love to cook for others.

I hold a Eng1 Seafarer Medical Certificate dated 2020.

DBS certified.

What else ...

I would love to have an experience as a crew on board a sailboat. I've recently done my Eng1 Seafarer medical with the intention of doing a Skipper qualification. I then remembered I had a workaway account and thought of the many opportunities & adventures to be had on this awesome site... So I'm back on here hoping to align with the right host who would like to teach me the ropes, in exchange for friendship and help with cooking.
