  • Description

UPDATE: I'M FINDING A FAMILY ON VANCOUVER ISLAND (I PREFER COWICHAN VALLEY BUT NOT NECESSARY IF YOU HAVE AN INTERESTING PROFILE AND YOU LIVE IN THE AREA BETWEEN NANAIMO AND VICTORIA) BECAUSE I WOULD LIKE TO SPEND THERE TWO WEEKS BETWEEN END JULY AND EARLY AUGUST. FOR THE REMAINING PERIOD I HAVE ALREADY ORGANIZED PLANS IN CANADA.

Hi! I'm Martina, a 22 years old girl from Italy. Simplicity and curiosity are the best keywords that describe myself! Since I was a child I have learned to appreciate simple things and moments and to esteem life. By nature I have a curious personality and I have the innate desire of growing personally. I'm really keen on facing new experiences and adventures, meeting new interesting people, knowing new cultures and habits. Travelling is not just a passion but a way of challenging myself and overstepping my 'comfort zone'.
I'm a very active and sportive girl; I like every outdoor sport given that I was born in a small mountain village, called Valfurva, in the Italian Alps (in the province of Sondrio). I'm fond of skiing, trekking, cycling. I love being surrounded by nature and admiring its beauties.
I'm really attached to my hometown but for academic studies I lived three years in a city called Pavia. Last year the bachelor's degree in Management was not only a great achievement for me but also a personal life's chapter that allowed me to broaden my mind and to overcome my shyness. I'm still a Uni student because I will start soon a master course in Italy but in the meantime I really would like to experience some cultural exchanges in Canada in order to enrich my myself, my cultural baggage and my language skills. Canada is my dreamland and I would be really fascinated to discover its mentality, its way of living and thinking and its amazing landscape.

  • What skills do you have?

I'm a multi-tasking girl and I learned that it's always possible to find a solution to everything. Just be creative and inventive!
With regard to my academic background, I gained knowledges in economics and business, accountancy, marketing, communication and information technology. I obtained the computer licence so I'm able to use many programmes. I have also a passion for foreign languages in fact, beyond my italian mothertongue, I speak quite well English and German.
During my studies I did some seasonal jobs as waitress, bar assistant, shop assistant and front office agent at the tourist office.
Thanks to project works and volunteering I learned to collaborate in team.
As far as my practical skills, I gained some experiences in the childcare; indeed I babysitted children of different ages and last autumn I did the Au-pair girl in Germany. Additionally I am used to do household chores and cook; I love preparing typical Italian dishes but also tasting new recipies.
I love nature so what refers to gardening and agriculture appeals to me. Obviously I don't have fear to get my hands dirty and to do manual tasks. I'm really open-minded and willing to learn new things and to give my help in fields which are unknown for me.
