*COVID-19 NOTE: WE'RE BOTH VACCINATED BY NOW. WE GOT THE BIONTECH-PFIZER VACCINE. STILL, WE'RE VERY RESPONSIBLE WHEN IT COMES TO BEING CAREFUL DUE TO THE VIRUS. WE TAKE ITS RISKS VERY SERIOUSLY, DO ALL WE CAN TO PROTECT (Y)OUR FAMILIES, OURSELVES AND EVERYONE AROUND US AND WE'RE ABSOLUTELY WILLING TO ADAPT TO YOUR WAYS OF DEALING WITH THE VIRUS / PRACTICING SOCIAL DISTANCING.*
Welcome to our profile!
We're a couple of 2 German students who have graduated from school in 2020 and we're planning to spend some time travelling in 2021 before we go to university at the end of the year.
We both speak English, Marie more fluently than Leon but we definitely both know how to communicate sufficiently. Leon also speaks some Spanish whereas Marie speaks French quite well, so despite the fact that we're both native Germans we also have two other languages to share with you if you're interested in learning new languages. :)
Both of us follow a vegetarian diet and we are very into working with animals, exploring nature and spreading more sense of sustainability. Although it would be amazing, it is no problem for us if the people we'll be staying with don't share these interests.
Since we are interested in environmental protection and experiencing biotopes that don't exist in Germany or the countries we've already been to, visiting Hawaii (for example) seems to be an amazing chance to fulfill these wishes.
Concerning our experiences with animals, you should know that Marie has had cats for the past few years, Leon has a dog, we both have had smaller pets like guinea pigs and tortoises and we have two dogs, that belong to Marie's neighbors, that we take care of and walk on a regular basis.
Still, we'd love to learn more about other kinds of animals too!
In general, we're just looking forward to making unique experiences and meeting amazing people that can introduce us to their way of life, culture and traditions while we can show them ours. Concerning pretty much everything, we are very flexible and open-minded too, so we are willing to try many new things and kinds of work, although taking care of animals and working with plants or doing house chores are probably the ones we're most experienced with. (E.g. because Marie loves cooking and baking! :D )
Also, please excuse the few photos uploaded on our profile, we're constantly trying to add to our "gallery" but we barely take photos. In case you'd wish to have more in order to be able to create a literal image of who we are, please feel free to ask for more photos!

More details about your skills
Marie loves to cook and bake goods so she's always ready to prepare dinner, breakfast or whatever for the family. She also knows many vegetarian, vegan, glutenfree or lactose-free recipes and is very interested in different cuisines and healthy food, so it should be no problem to adapt to your diet.
We both can do typical house chores but if something is new to us we will try to learn it as soon as possible.
Leon has some experiences in doing garden maintenance and handyman tasks in general and Marie has some knowledge about flowers, fruits and vegetables (although they're typical German ones usually, that you probably take care of differently compared to more tropical plants.) Leon is also doing a 3-month internship at a garden-design company at the moment where he does both gardening and construction work.
Also, Leon is very good at fishing, so he is used to being outside, sleeping in a tent and getting his clothes dirty. Although Marie doesn't know much about fishing, she doesn't have a problem with getting muddy, working outside, ... either.
In Germany she does home tutoring for other students, so maybe she could also help your kids, if you have any, with their schoolwork? Also, when it comes to spending time with children, Leon is passionate about soccer so he'll love to share his knowledge/passion with your kids!
We both have a driver's license and will get an international one before we leave Germany, so we can also go shopping, drive you or other family members around or do whatever you might need us to do with a car.
Like we already mentioned earlier in our profile, we both have experiences with pets and partly with other animals, like horses for example, and we like working with children, since Leon has worked in a special-needs school for a year and Marie has done some babysitting in the past.

What else ...
We're both interested in sportive activities and we would love to exercise and get to know the surroundings at the same time by going for a walk and to the beach regularly. Leon loves to play soccer and we'd both like to learn something new, like surfing for example. Still, we also like to just hang around sometimes, since Marie is into reading.
But in general we're always willing to learn something new and get to know things and activities that others enjoy!
If anything shouldn't be clear yet, feel free to send us a message, we're absolutely looking forward to answering your questions! :)

Special dietary requirements
We're both vegetarians and Marie is lactose-intolerant, but we can cook for ourselves if that's easier for everyone of course.
