Hi!

I am Jorinde, I am 29 years old and come from the Netherlands.

I have a background as a social psychologist and trainer/coach. I am also a travel writer and a passionate traveler. I came to New Zealand in January to do a training course as an adventure guide, getting certified in hiking and rock climbing. After that I traveled for a little bit and spent winter working for one of the ski fields. Now I am excited to get to know New Zealand in other ways!

Who am I?

I am an active person and am always looking for something new to try. Over the last years I have lived longer periods in Ghana, Mexico, Australia, Greece, Canada and Peru either working, studying or volunteering and of course getting to know the local culture. For me travelling is all about meeting people and having new experiences and not so much about visiting places. That is why I prefer spending a longer time in one place to seeing as much as possible in a short period.

I am very independent and have no problem entertaining myself with a good book or hiking in nature, but I am also always happy to spend time having good conversations or eating together. I love animals and have had the pleasure of working with animals before, so I would be very happy to take care of any and all creatures where needed.

Many different things interest me, which means I can always find a way to enjoy my current situation. I am passionate about nature and have worked in rural areas, but my experience and background in humanfocused jobs means I am also happy in a dynamic social setting.

I have no problem with hard work and like getting a new challenge. I catch on fast and prefer to make myself useful, so put me to work!

I speak Dutch and English fluently, have an advanced level of Spanish and basic German and French and I enjoy learning languages. Currently I am also training in compassionate or nonviolent communication (a.k.a. a 'language of life') and I would love to tell you more about that!
