Hi, I'm currently looking for volunteer opportunity to start off my next adventure in Europe. I prefer longer stays where I have the time to learn and contribute as much as I can.
My next destination:
Germany View allDescription
Hi, I'm Sara from Toronto and I'm very excited to find a great volunteer opportunity to kick start my next European adventure! It's been 6 years since my solo backpacking trip and it remains as one of the best decisions I've made in my life. The three months I spent travelling alone were an unforgettable and life changing experience and I would never have learned so much about myself, and the world, if I hadn't taken that step in life. So I've always intended to do another solo trip where I can spend more time in each place and really get to know the people and the work. I spent one of the best two weeks of my life in Switzerland and I always wish I could have stayed longer. So this time, I'm leaning more towards longer stays where I have the time to truly contribute and make a difference.
There are a lot of things I'm passionate about in life and I hope to explore as many interests as I can during this time. It was a tough choice to postpone pursuing my passion for neurobiology, but I'm excited to dedicate this year to all the other things I care about in this world, animal welfare being one of the major ones. I love animals and I will do as much as I can to reduce the pain and suffering of all beings. I’ve volunteered at a veterinary clinic so I have some experience in dealing with different animals. I also have a super energetic mini dachshund, so I know how much it takes to trust someone else to take care of your beloved pet. I never take that trust lightly and would love and care for your pet the same way I do for my own dog,
I try to always stay positive so I think you'll find, pretty quickly, that I'm a very friendly and easygoing person! I love meeting people from all over the world, where we can exchange ideas and opinions and challenge ourselves to see things from a completely different perspective. so I believe in always keeping an open mind and an open heart. Life experience has also turned me into a very adaptable person; I understand the realities of life and the sudden changes that call for quick thinking on your feet. I love being part of a group so you’ll find that I work very well with others, but I also do great with independent work and take initiative to help without having to be asked. I’m a fast learner and highly focused so once I’m taught how to do something, you can trust that it's being done efficiently and with care as I like to give everything my absolute best.
Please feel free to ask me anything! I’d love to hear from you and answer any questions that you might have.Interests

I started working in high school and I've been lucky to have a chance at experiencing a wide variety of different jobs. I’ve learned many valuable skills in this decade of working and volunteering, many of which have proven to be very essential in different professional and personal settings. A few of the most useful skills are my leadership skills, customer relations and problem solving under high pressure.
I can cook, do general housekeeping, help with house renovation and creative art projects. I don’t have any professional training as a chef but I love cooking and baking. I’ve spent a lot of time in the kitchen and can cook a variety of different types of food, however, as a new vegan there is still a lot to learn! I would love to share what I do know and keep on improving. I also love working with kids; I have experience in tutoring kids and babysitting younger children. I would also be more than happy to teach English or just help anyone improve their English skills.
I enjoy physically demanding work where you would be working in challenging environment all day.those are the most rewarding days! I try to lead a healthy lifestyle, so I am quite strong and capable of heavy lifting. I’ve helped with many home improvement projects, from painting to complete demolish and rebuilding. so I have some experience in construction and home remodel so I'd be able to follow directions easily. I also used to do a lot of wood work in school so I have experience working in a shop and with different machines.
