Hello to all travelers and hosts! :-)
My name is Berit and I'm a 25-year-old german working as a journalist for a sustainable tour operarter. I studied Literary Writing and Cultural Journalism at the Faber-Castell Academy.
In grade 10 I spent an exchange year in the Gambia, the smallest and one of the poorest countries in Africa, where I lived in a traditional family attending a local school, where, unfortunately, beating was also on the agenda. The year was a real challenge, but certainly not entirely innocent that the clutches of WANDERLUST have drawn me further into the world after I finished my education: I spent the summer of 2015 in Sisimiut, West Greenland, where I lived in a Danish host family and guided cruise tourists through the city. The following year I found myself in the jungles of Borneo, where I had to experience first hand the impact of the destruction of the rainforest. Then I worked in Borneo and Taiwan in a hostel. In the summer of 2016, Greenland called me again - this time in the still more secluded East. Again, I have worked with tourists, whom I have accompanied on boat trips to glaciers and deserted fishing villages. In 2018 I traveled to Mongolia and lived in a traditional yurt for a week. No electricity, no internet, no running water. I also worked on a husky farm in Alaska that year.
Does anyone wonder that traveling and writing (about my experiences) became my two biggest passions?
I'm always hungry for new experiences and happy for every new continent, country and lifestyle I'm allowed to experience!!!

I'm open for every kind of casual work in the house, in a hotel or outside. I'm especially good with children and above all with animals, as I myself had a lot of animals at home. I'm a very sensitive person.

I'm a writer and always looking forward to getting to know new cultures and beautiful lanscapes. My debut novel was inspired by my stay in Greenland.
