Hi I am Alex! Spent some major times of my life in the city but now having the strong ambition to work and nourish the land. I love the peace and the joy that it brings me to see life flourish.

I am finishing up my master's degree in environmental sociology, in which I focused on social change, social justice, decolonisation, and the philosophy of knowledge.

After breaking my brain on these topics, and recently, also my heart, I am ready to take a big break and catch up to breathe, whilst digging my hands into the soil; building; connecting... To some lovely humans and more than humans, and to the things that really matter.

I identify as nonbinary and hope to find a good match with a queer-friendly community, where I can pour my heart into everything I do and the connections that I make, and filling my heart at the same time. Reciprocity, that is :)

I am not particularly specialised in any kind of manual work, but I am happy to learn on the go, think along, and ask Youtube. I like to think of myself as an okay cook though, I love to cook nourishing meals and get experimental!

Other than that I am interested in spirituality; therapeutic body practices such as dancing, yoga and tantra; traditional medicines and medicinal plants; agroecology; land rights; alternative forms of education; recommoning, squatting, anarchism, anti-racism and feminism.

I hope to talk with you about this, exchange and share, and to learn from you and other Workawayers!

Last but not least, to reiterate - I am looking for a queer-friendly space. After some unpleasant experiences at so-called 'woke' or 'alternative' spaces, I really need to feel safe. I hope that we can discuss together what safe spaces mean and how we can create them, which sometimes means shedding beliefs and practices that we feel comfortable in.

In terms of creativity, I like to get busy with different kinds of mediums, be it paint, fabric, beads. I like to set up spaces and create a nice atmosphere. As a squatter I have basic building skills and know how to handle some tools. I have basic knowledge on gardening, but know where to find relevant information and do research. :) Happy to share my thoughts on social justice, decolonisation and feminism; how this translates into practice at places like yours. I consider myself spiritual and am on the trajectory of being a healer. Happy to assist where I can, such as by guiding meditations and practicing 'energy work' such as reiki :)
