Where to start?
My name is Aine and I'm a young woman from New Zealand. Originally Scottish, my family has lived on the other side of the world for 13 years. I have 5 sisters and 2 brothers...So my house was never quiet!
The outside world has always been my favorite place to be, surrounded by nature.
I have worked in several intentional/permaculture communities, tended gardens, raised animals, and assisted in building structures using materials straight from Mama Earth.

I am a very bubbly and social person, and love being around new people and different cultures. Cultural similarities and differences are so interesting to me!
I am open and curious, so it's not a problem to talk about lots of topics... I'm not so much for small talk!
I am very free-spirited and enjoy being able to spend time learning, exploring, and having adventures. I consider myself to have a caring attitude and my favorite thing to see is that my work is helping others (humans, animals, etc)!
I love to learn, I was educated at home and did not attend a conventional school for most of my youth. When I did, it showed me that I absolutely prefer learning from the land, people and shared knowledge/experience.

In essence, I'm an out-going hard worker and very very keen to learn more about farming and the different cultures of places!

My parents dreamt of establishing a permaculture farm for most of my childhood. However they never found the right place, nor managed to realize that dream. But farming, permaculture, and nature continue to fascinate me. Which is why I have come to Workaway.

I grew up helping my family to create vegetable gardens as a child. I learned how to prepare the soil and determine the best types, when to plant seeds and how often to water. I would like to learn about companion planting, larger scale growing, and expand on what I already know about organic growing.

Over the years my family has had 7 cats, 30+ chickens, a donkey, and 3 guinea pigs. My favorite way to help my parents has always been caring for the animals! Something about connecting to another living being without the need for language is very special to me. I know how to feed animals, talk to them, train them ( only chickens and guinea pigs at the moment... The donkey was wild at heart! I also know how to recognize their needs and I'm not afraid to get muddy/dirty to care for them.
I would like to learn more about farm animals though specifically. Many of our animals, e.g the cats and donkey were purely pets. I would like to learn how animals are cared for and how they contribute to a farm.
