Workaway is not just for the young but certainly for the young at heart.
I have been Travelling around now for a 10 years.
I am using Workaway to continue my travels, saving some money, meeting lots of new people along the way.
Hopefully helping out where i can and leaving each position better for having had me help.
personable, social, non smoker, love nature, diving, travel, reading, enjoy a good movie.
As I tend to stay longer in places on my travels I often find myself helping out, so thought I should give the work away program a tryout and hopefully pick up or share a few skills along the way as well as meeting new friends.
**PLEASE READ MY REVIEWS BEFORE YOU READ MY BIO THEY SAY A LOT ABOUT ME**
I have quite a diverse employment history so I can build, maintain and repair quite a few things.
Workaway is a great way to travel not only do you have a holiday but 'work' meet new people, task yourself and even learn a new skill sometimes but more importantly we get to experience other cultures.
I am one of these people who like to be occupied with a task I derive some satisfaction from most jobs.
I cannot be on holiday all the time but still love to kickback and relax too.
I have many skills and love to meet people which is one of the reasons I travel.
Not afraid of hard work or getting my hands dirty no task to menial, no job too hard.
Short time from 1 week to a few weeks i will consider anything though usually I try to find workaways where i can be there for a month or more, this benefits both myself of finding a routine in life and my hosts have a reliable pair of hands / shoulders to share the burden not that work is a burden but there has been a few times that i have been left alone with guest houses and air B&B's, due to sickness of hosts or unforeseen circumstances.
During covid i ended up keeping both a guesthouse and an air B&B up and running unfortunately they were not listed on workaway so no references.
While the world was still in lockdown i ended up in the USA where i worked for 2 plus years landscaping, which suits me as I am pretty green fingered.
In the past I have also planted Olive & Oranges Groves.
before workaway I have worked in many service sector jobs dealing with the public so know how important Good Customer Service is to both the customer & Business
hospitality reception and so forth
general handyman
simple plumbing
electrics,
General Repairs
Computer maintenance
Data recovery

Web Promotion
What I do not know I can quickly learn
I can usually turn my hand to any task, good at general maintenance, whether it is painting or fixing things..
I can even BAKE CAKES see photos
I have College and University Qualifications in the following'
I ACHEIVED A UNIVERSITY DEGREE AT THE AGE OF 43
Food & Hygiene qualifications
Internet Technology
Computer hardware & Networking
my last three workaways saw me staying at each location for a few months which was great for me and my hosts.
mostly its been in guest houses covering reception and helping out where i could.
my first workaway i covered the receptions of two guest houses 100 meters apart in the same street.
GUESTHOUSE AIR B&B PET SITTING
my last workaday host got sick and i took the responsibility of looking after her two air B&B accommodations which entailed all the housekeeping, repairs, checking in and out the guests and being a point of contact should they require assistance and taking care of 1 acre of land and of course the two resident cats
HOUSESITTING / PETSITTING
Over a 5 month winter I housesat a private accommodation and the cat, the house sat on 5 acres of ground had its own spring water i had to ensure nothing froze over the winter and take care of the cat making sure it was in each night because it may have froze or become prey to the wild animals.
Bush-hogged back a half acre of brush
Also Just worked for two plus years in USA as a professional landscaper so i am pretty well versed in maintaining yards, gardens bush-whacking. planting, seeding, pruning, tree surgery.
Over the years I have tackled things I have not done before extended my skill base.
I even put new pillars in a house in USA in the basement jacking up an entire floor.
Feel grateful that people have trusted me with their properties and the care of their guests.
So are the count is two AirBnB's and one guesthouse another owner requested I cover for them but unfortunately VISA required me to leave the country.
Maybe one day if I ever find that perfect spot I may open up my own place, still looking .....
Among some of my more bizarre moments was catching a cobra that came into my room.Interests

It was a pleasure to host Andrew,he was with us for 2 months, we truly hope he returns one day.
He carried out his tasks as requested and more. Our customers were very satisfied in their dealing with him. A good all rounder, he was able to repair most things if the parts were to hand.Apart from his reception duties he painted the bathroom,… read more
