Our working estancia is located in the heart of rural Argentina, in the province of Córdoba. We are a working cattle farm and also run a world-reknowned and award winning hospitality business, specialising in horseback trail riding. Your hosts are Kevin and Louisa, and the estancia is Kevin´s family home. Louisa joined him 14 years ago from the United Kingdom. There are around 600 head of cattle and over 100 horses, and the estancia is located at the top of the beautiful ´Sierras Chicas'. We have been running a volunteer programme for over 15 years, with over 100 volunteers over the years, who help us with the trail riding and looking after our guests, in return for the experience of a lifetime!

Helping with Tourists
Travellers will have the opportunity to experience firsthand life on a traditional Argentine estancia. They will have the opportunity to interact with our friendly local staff and therefore improve their knowledge of Spanish and Argentine life. They will also have the opportunity to ride in their time off, try their hand at polo and maybe watch the gauchos at work, or simply enjoy the stunning countryside. In addition, they will gain valuable experience working in a famous and well-established riding and hospitality business.
We are looking for sociable and enthusiastic volunteers to join us as volunteer horseback riding guides, working alongside us as hosts to look after our guests and our horses, both in and out of the saddle. We have start dates from September onwards, but are looking for volunteers to commit to a MINIMUM OF 3 MONTHS. Main duties include joining guest rides as ´back-up´rider and other guest related duties, and in quieter times volunteers may take on a variety of tasks including tack cleaning, working with young stock, painting, gardening, maintenance duties. There will be at least 2 other volunteers. Volunteers must be competent and confident horse-riders, sociable and flexible. Maximum weight limit 13 Stone. Age 21+. Non smokers and non fussy eaters. Minimum stay three months.
Accommodation is simple and shared (same sex) with bathroom including hot showers. Sheets, towels, etc are provided. There is access to simple laundry facilities. Please note that there is no mobile coverage on the estancia and extremely limited wifi access (satellite).
At the start and end of your visit we will pick volunteers up from the local town (Rio Ceballos) and will finance transport from Buenos Aires. There may be the opportunity to drop down to the town during your stay but volunteers should be prepared to be based mainly at the estancia.
