    Description

    Hello,
Welcome to our place, a community of alternative people who love sharing and co- experiencing.

We are a small team of travellers who opened an alternative boutique hotel in the centre of Athens.

Our place is a traditional & fully renovated building that was split into individual studios and rooms, decorated in combination of DIY approach and the illusion of a typical Greek island. It also provides a yard and a leisure area for communicating with the other community members, and a wonderful terrace with floor seats and hammocks.

The owners are two bohemian style 'pragmatist dreamers'. Our vision is to spend every moment of our lives in exchanging experiences with people from all over the world. Different cultures, religions, beliefs, philosophies and behaviours are more than welcome! Our scope is to ensure integration into Greek culture during your stay. Everyone that comes here is being considered a friend.

We are located in the centre of Athens. We are surrounded by theatres, galleries, clubs, bars, exhibitions, the TECHNOPOLIS festival-concert area, restaurants and anything you can imagine that provides a multi-experience stay. Major sightseeing is located in a 5' - 15' walking distance. There is also easy access to each part of the town via public transportation.

Our place has a family-like atmosphere where workawayers will be welcomed as part of our family.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Besides the opportunity to get to know one of the most historical cities in the world, Athens, this work exchange is a great opportunity for helpers who seek experience in the hospitality and tourism industry as well as practise their language skills as we receive people from allover the world.
This exchange could also be the start of your career in tourism and who knows, maybe in our place if we both feel that way.
Last but not least, we would be glad to share with you our own experiences in life and our experience in starting up our community hotel.
As mentioned on our profile here, workawayers will be remunerated for every hour they have worked based on the minimum wage in Greece. The details will be communicated with each candidate during a Skype interview.
You will have many opportunities to get some extra cash ( (in addition to the minimum legal wage in Greece, for every hour you have worked with us) by selling services or products that we promote in our place.

During the morning and evening shifts the major responsibility is to handle guest checking-in / out, handle requests, give tips about the city and places of interest and resolve any issues that pop-up or escalate them to the manager when necessary. Also they will need to handle walk-in clients that would like to book a room and also maintain the hotel area neat. Occasionally, there might be a task to put the washed laundry in the drying machine, which is a very simple task, as both devices are located next to each other in a separate room next to the reception area.

For the night shift, the workawayer that will be responsible, will just need to sleep indoors (no need to stay awake all night) and handle late check-ins (shift starts around midnight and until 8am) and also any walk-in clients that arrive during the night, which rarely happens and usually around the weekend. The person on duty will also need to attend the hotel entrance in case someone rings the bell at night, or in case of emergency. Usually this is a very chilled shift, and nothing happens during the night other than late check-ins that usually arrive not later than 1am.

We speak Greek, English and a member of our staff speaks Spanish too.
In case you speak some Greek and you want to practise that would give you an extra point ;)

Also, it is very important for us to point out a few things:
    - We will give priority to people who plan to stay long term (at least one month) but we will also welcome short stay requests in case we need last minute assistance (check for the respective option on our profile).
    - We will be happy to receive people who would like to see our project as a stepping stone to start living in Athens or Greece in general.
    - We are passionate about what we are doing and we love to collaborate with honest and straight forward people who always try to give their best.
    - We have created this project to make our quality of life better, gain from our cultural exchange and assist each other and we will ensure that the same applies to our workawayers.
    - We are a place were no discrimination is allowed and everyone should feel free to express themselves freely.
    - When you are sending your first message please let us know a few things about yourself, why you would like to stay with us, what motivates you and what are your expectations, alongside with your availability.
