We are located in the middle of the historic center close to all the tourist attractions and right in front of the steps leading to the Panecillo hill with the statue of the virgin and an incredible view of the historic center and some of the snow covered volcanoes. Our street Garcia Moreno is also called "calle de las seite cruces" because of the 7 churches on it including the famous Compania de Jesus church covered with gold inside. Other attractions on our street include the Museo Ciudad (city museum), Plaza Grande and the Palace with the weekly change of the guard on Monday. A cultural center is close by where you can enjoy a work out in the gym or take salsa lessons all for free. Those of you that are willing to stay for an extended period can receive discounts on day trips to some of the best places to see just outside of Quito including volcano Cotopaxi, the cloud forest in Mindo, The largest artesenal market of South America in Otovalo and the emerald green crater lake Quilotoa.
We are looking for fun and energetic travelers that can help entertain our guests while helping out with reception duties, organizing events and activities, and cleaning duties. Help us make our cozy hostel the best in town. If you are responsible and enjoy socializing with travelers while helping around the hostel or have ideas about how to improve the energy at our hostel, we would love to talk to you. We prefer English/Spanish speakers, but will consider the right person that speaks just English or Spanish.
- socializing with guests on what to go see and how to get there.
- organizing events like free walking tours of the historic center of Quito
- help out with reception duties including check in and check out of guests
- light cleaning duties including changing sheets, laundry
Our volunteers stay in a pod style bunk bed that includes a privacy screen, reading light and an electric outlet so you can charge your phone. You will also have a large locker that features an electric outlet so you can safely charge your laptop. You will use the shared bathrooms and showers, but no worries, because we have 5 hot water heaters and 13 showers in total for our small hostel, so you will enjoy the hot showers. We have a modern kitchen with all the bells and whistles that you can use for your own convenience.
We offer free breakfast, coffee and tea all day and free rice and pasta to use.
We are located close to several bus lines including the Trole and Ecovia that both go to the North and South bus terminals that have connections to the coast, amazon and the other towns in the mountains. At the end of 2019 we should have a metro station (underground train) around the corner that can take you to all of Quito.
