    Description

A sanctuary that strives to give people an intimate experience with nature, birdlife, horses, dogs, and farm sustenance. Looking for helpers who truly honor mother earth, and want to help keep the farm beautiful, harvest and trim, and enjoy the gifts the island has to offer. My helpers built me a greenhouse this year, built and repaired fences, planted gardens - everything is looking beautiful thanks to all their wonderful efforts. I am needing a chicken coop built, a better market stand, and another greenhouse. Who can build a tiny house?

In the summer helpers stay in the loft of the barn that has a lovely balcony, 3 beds, lots of windows and space.
2 or 3 helpers that work well together has proven the best situation, or 1 helper that doesn't mind working alone.

In the winter helpers stay in the nicer accommodations on the seaside or in their own 2 bedroom cottage. It's nice to have helpers that know how to build - there are so many projects to create.

regular chores include cleaning the horse stalls and paddocks. Right now there is planting, pruning, harvesting, watering, soil making, horse work, general tidying. It's a beautiful setting, so it's enjoyable. A helper is always encouraged to be happy and choose what suits them best. Please come if you can build things!~
Horse training would be an amazing help, but anyone with horse experience is fine.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

large barn loft with balcony in the warm months. seaside sleeping cabin or 2 bedroom cottage available in the winter months.
The food is 100% organic, it would be nice to have helpers that appreciate the extra effort and cost of providing this. Breakfasts at your choice of time consist of home made granola, yogurt, farm fruit, you can prepare eggs, pancakes, french toast, whatever you like. Lunch is again choice of breads, cheeses, avocados, salads, and dinner is a group effort where we all sit together to enjoy, or I make it all for you.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

the summer is particularly busy, lots of harvesting fruit and berries, maintaining fencing, watering, . There are canoes here, bicycles, paddleboard, hikes & beaches nearby, village is close too, so lots to do and explore. The island is full of hills so it's more effort to get around, hitch hiking is very popular! The seaside deck is very cool on the warm summer days, there are also many large trees and forests surrounding the farm to keep it's integrity intact. Sunsets are the best! The winter brings us indoors more, but we learn to face the elements every day, and plan accordingly. Your help is always greatly appreciated!~
