    Description

We are a family-run, community-driven, biodiverse vegetable farm in Rossland, British Columbia. We are in the heart of the Kootenay's in a beautiful mountain town. Our farm grows and raises nutrient-dense vegetables, herbs, flowers, and fruit. We are a family of 6 and the main goal of our farm is to inspire our community to love and appreciate good, healthy, locally grown food. We love to have new friends come and work with us on the farm, and are looking for folks who love farm work, and have a deep love and appreciation for growing food. Folks who come to work with us will need to also love kids, as our children are as much a part of our farm as Dan and I are.

Working with us on our farm will include all kinds of different tasks - from day to day farm maintenance (building beds, weeding, tending to crops) to helping us with harvest, processing, packaging and farmers' markets, to helping with child-minding.... there is always a lot to do!

In exchange, we offer accommodation at our house, which is about a 10 minute walk from the farm. This year we are seeking people who will enjoy a camp set-up outside. This includes a designated covered space for tenting, and access to our firepit and BBQ. You will also be welcome inside at any time to use our washroom, kitchen and living space. Our house is small, so its best if folks who come to work with us enjoy spending a lot of time outdoors...like us! We also offer plenty of good food, yum :)

Rossland is a small and lovely town. We are a perfect place for outdoor enthusiasts. There a ton of trails for hiking or mountain biking, and a really active community so you're always meeting new people. A great place to visit while traveling this area of BC.

This year we are hoping to welcome people for longer-term stays. We would love to welcome you for either a 3 or 6 month stay. Ideally this will be broken down into stays from May - July and August - October, or a full stay from May - October. The reason for this is so folks become really familiar and efficient with the tasks we need done and so we spend less time training.

We have also expanded our outdoor veggie farm to include a brand new indoor microfarm that produces an abundance of microgreens. Folks who come to stay with us will help with both farms and will learn how to grow and tend to microgreens as well as vegetables.

Ideally we will have just one or two people come to stay and work at a time, but we are open to other arrangements as well.

We'd love to chat / connect with you if you're headed our way!
