Hello Workawayers and welcome to Chuncheon language exchange!
First of all, we are an English language exchange café that aims to revolutionize the way Koreans learn English by having conversations with English speakers from around the world.
We feel that it would benefit our Korean members tremendously by encouraging them to speak and use English language in a proactive manner instead of the conventional way of studying.
By suggesting or proposing accurate pronunciation, useful words, idioms or phrases to them; we look forward to help them discover the many joys of learning and using English in their daily lives.
If you need some space to live while traveling in Korea, you can live in our dormitory while working at our cafe :D
Basically your duty here in our community is to converse with Koreans and you would need to work to engage them in your conversation. We strongly believe there is no better opportunity to exchange language, culture and ideas than having conversations with our Korean members and the volunteers you will share a home with during your stay with us.
We don't consider our program as teaching since there is no curriculum and you don't need to conduct classes but through your conversation with them, we would expect our Korean members' English speaking capability to improve.
Therefore, it is highly recommended that you suggest a better way of speaking or correct their sentences if and when they make mistakes.
Through volunteering with us, you will be able to meet and befriend both Koreans and other nationalities, have a glimpse of how Koreans go about their daily lives and lastly without a doubt, you will also feel rewarded just by seeing their gradual progress through your sessions with them.
This would definitely serve you well if you're looking forward to enhance your knowledge of South Korea, it's people and culture, to teach better and improve your overall communication skills for your future endeavor.
Our volunteers will speak with and lead conversation or discussion based on specific topic with our Korean members seated at your table 4 hours a day, 5 *️️️️️️️️️️ days a week and 2 days off. We have 3 sessions a day : 1st session will be 50 - 80 minutes, 2nd & 3rd sessions lasting 70 minutes each. There will be a 10 minute break in between session.
*️️️️️️️️️️On Monday late morning to late afternoon, we would spend time with our host and other volunteers to help our host practice English as well. We highly encourage you to join us and enjoy some activities or dining together (cost of activities, food or beverage would be borne by volunteer themselves).
Our café members and volunteers come from different walks of life, hence, we are looking for :

Chuncheon is not too far from Seoul, Incheon International Airport and Gimpo Domestic Airport; all highly accessible via intercity / airport buses, AREX Airport Train (Direct / Multi-stop), metro / subway connecting to Gyeongchun line and ITX.
Chuncheon is also most famous for being capital city of Gangwon-do with Chuncheon Dalkgalbi and Makguksu being it's representative food but apart from that; it is a wonderful, serene, neighborly and scenic place surrounded by beautiful lake, river, mountains, waterfalls, parks, botanical gardens, sculptures, markets and is bicycle friendly too!
If you love coffee; you'll definitely enjoy your coffee and the sight where the café street is located as well. You might also be delighted to discover a museum solely dedicated to a nation who had actively supported South Korea here during the Korea War too (no spoiler so come and discover when you're with us)!
There's plenty to do if you wished to walk, jog, hike, cycle, sight see, have a picnic, or engaged in water sports. Koreans love to camp in Chuncheon as well so if that's your thing, you would be able to find out more when talking to our Korean members.
Gapyeong-gun is quite close to Chuncheon so if you're also interested in Nami Island, Petite France or Garden of Morning Calm (just to name a few); you have come to the right place!
Otherwise, you could ask for more suggestion from our Korean members about Chuncheon, neighbouring towns, cities or other provinces in South Korea and go on an adventure or more as Chuncheon Intercity Bus Terminal or Gyeongchun train line / ITX is just a bus ride away!
