Basic cooking facilities, fridge/freezer, extra water tap and a good hot shower in the poly tunnel. Washing machine in the byre with drying space in the Gled or outside. Outside the lockable caravan door, there is a flagged, fire pit- leading to loads of space for a garden- leading down some steps to a little river- leading to a woodland. We accept some animals. I will give you food money each week and help you buy the food you will be cooking for yourself. There are occasional group meals that I cook. Maybe a singsong around our bonfire?
The farm is situated right on the Roman Wall Walking route. Local sites include various Mile Castles [Our farm hosts the tallest bit of the wall still standing.], Birdoswald Fort [3miles], Lanercost Priory and tea rooms [3/4 mile]. We have two woodlands[One ancient. One not] both with rivers. One was replanted with indigenous trees 30 years ago and leads to a roman quarry. We have 2 rods in the river Irthing [1/2 mile]. if you like fly fishing. The land next to the river Irthing is part of the remaining 3% of English wetland so there are otters, badgers and heron as well as trout in the river.
