Description
We are an expat family living in Playa Negra, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. We live on a beautiful and peaceful 10 acre property that was once operated as a nature and surf lodge just a 10 minute walk from the world class surf spot, playa negra, and 3 kilometers from Playa Avellanas. The hope is to turn the property into a self sustaining farm while maintaining the gorgeous main building.

Small town life!
Just a 10 minute walk from the world class surf spot, playa negra, and 3 kilometers from Playa Avellanas.
There are several world class surf breaks, yoga schools, horseback riding, in-shore and offshore fishing, parks and wildlife reserves, canopy tours, organic farms, nesting turtles, etc... its Costa Rica. Tons of super nice people, young and old, to socialize and connect with in all topics and nationalities.Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help
Endless list of tasks to be done. Jack-of-all-trade types are very welcome. Flexibility is reciprocal! I am new to this. The Ultimate goal is to get the place going as a self sufficient farm and convert the lodge into a facility for groups to use as an adventure facility. I am also a professional arborist/ tree climber and instructor and live to teach people the ropes.

It depends on how many of my four boys are home. Could be a room, could be camping. Part of getting workawayers here with skills is to make more places for workawayers to stay in the future.
What else ...
It is very quiet here. This is not Tamarindo. This is nature plus surf culture mixed with country life. There is a bus route that passes three time a day for those that want to get out and about to explore other towns and beaches. There are national parks, waterfalls, canopy tours that can all be reached by bus in overnight excursions and Liberia international is an hour and a half by car. The area is still pristine in nature but will not be for much longer as it is soon to be enveloped by urban sprawl. Someone goes to town every other day so rides are definitely possible.
