Hi, my name is Jack. Together with my girlfriend Thuy we just started running a farmstay in Da Lat. This is all very new and exciting for us, but also sometimes a bit busy. This is why we're looking for help.
We're a very friendly, open and easy going couple. Dutch and Vietnamese. Before this I was a mechanical engineer and Thuy was a social work case manager. So we come from a very different background, but both wanted something new.
We're both travelers and seeing all these amazing places while on the road made us want to create one of these places ourselves. We also had the desire to learn how to grow our own food and do it in a sustainable way. We got very lucky and found this place in our search in Da Lat.
In total the farmstay is 1900 square meters with ten rooms (inside the house and 4 little bungalows in the garden). 900 Square meters of that is greenhouse. We're farming without chemicals and are trying to make the switch to organic and permaculture. At the same time we try to get involved in the community to hopefully spread awareness about healthy chemical-free vegetables and an eco-friendly lifestyle.
If you join us you will be a part of our family. Us two, one or two kids and a very needy cat. You'll enjoy the incredible meals Thuy can prepare and get a look into a (mixed) vietnamese family lifestyle.
**Special notice** Tet holiday is coming up. From jan 20th untill the end of that month will be a busy and unusual time. While we would very much appreciate help around the house in that time, we can't ensure meals. Because we're very busy ourselves and cost of living rises steeply around that time. We'll only have room for one volunteer at that time.

Live the easy Da Lat life in this perfect climate. City of eternal spring. Get a feel for vietnamese family life and farming. And of course learn to cook some vietnamese food!
We could use some help with the general farmwork. Weeding, planting, fertilizing, harvesting and watering. Picking up organic waste around town for our compost pile.
The house itself is pretty big and as the season is starting to pick up again we are expecting many guests. So we could also use some help with housekeeping and helping to take care of guests. Cooking, cleaning, caring for indoor plants and making up the rooms.
If you have a certain skill or want to build experience in a certain field, be sure to let us know! All input is welcome.
English, Dutch, Vietnamese, some German.
In exchange for your input we'll provide you with a small private room. The kitchen and bathroom is shared with our family. Breakfast and a big lunch are included. We encourage you to try all the nice food around town for dinner, but joining us for a family meal is also possible.
There's plenty to do around Da Lat. Nature lovers can hike till they drop. Langbiang mountain is only 8km away and it's a nice hike to the top.
In town there's plenty to see and do, like the night market, visiting the crazy house or crazy bar, try at least 20 of the one million coffeeshops (ok maybe a few less).
We have motorbikes for rent (at a reduced price for volunteers) and getting around with grab or taxi is very easy.
Limited internet access
We have pets
We are smokers
Maximum 4-5 hours a day, 5 days a week
