    Description

We are a Warmblood Horse and Pony and hay farm in NE BC. My husband and I are also certified Equine Canada riding coaches. We live just 5 mins from an all amenity city in NE British Columbia Canada. We need volunteer help in exchange for room and board and riding lessons, on our farm, training horses, and ponies to ride and start driving, so we do require solid horse experienced riders for this position.

Can you operate hand tools, have carpentry skills, have mechanical skills with farm equipment? Have you operated haying equipment? Along with horse training we need volunteers for helping with all the things that go on and need doing on a working farm from fencing, to painting to cleaning up, whipper snipping etc.

Our property is located along the banks of the mighty Peace River and nature is abound here. Helpers will need their own transportation for excursions around our beautiful area and Province.

If you seek to improve your English language skills, in a fun total immersion way this is it! All riding and training skills with horses inside and outside an arena, will be in English we can help improve your English skills while improving your horse training and handling skills. This is the oldest non native community in British Columbia and there is much history to be learned right here in the Peace River Valley, from pre-historic to modern times, this is a very diverse historic area of Canada.

You will share our home and use a large bedroom of your own with a semi private bathroom and share all other living spaces. We have wifi and can live stream TV but do not have cable TV here.
Room, board and riding and/or driving lessons are provided in exchange for work. If workaways have extra special dietary needs they should let us know in advance. Workaways maybe asked to help in the kitchen preparing food or helping clean up.

Helpers are free to come and go if there isn't work to be done. We don't have indoor facilities for riding so if the weather is unfavourable for outdoor work here are lots of places to visit within a 2 hour drive. We attend family, music and dancing events and helpers are welcome to join in if they are here. Most helpers either rent a vehicle to get around or buy an inexpensive one during their stay. We are not insured to loan our vehicles to helpers unless we are with them.
