Explore the tropical rainforest of Belize on our 10 acre jungle camp that’s right on the banks of the Macal River in the Cayo district. Our jungle farm is just 3 miles outside of San Ignacio town in Cristo Rey Village. This is super nice because you can easily come into San Igancio for activities and tours while having the peace of staying in the jungle.

Living in Belize is a unique lifestyle. San Ignacio is a really cultural town and is great to explore and learn about. Living on the jungle camp you will be in a local village but only a $1usd bus from town. So you get to see a lot and learn about the culture and life here.
We are looking for help with expanding our garden, growing more plants, composting, coming up with creative ways to set up hydroponic gardening. Also building structures with wood like a new garden center, butterfly house, simple cabanas, cabinets and furniture. Creative souls are very welcome as well we would like signs painted and unique paintings on the sides of some of our structures. And of course help with just the typical maintenance of running a hostel as well I.e. cleaning, painting rooms, raking and weeding etc. Anyway you can contribute will be appreciated let us know your ideas.
We would like volunteers to stay for 3 weeks but are also flexible on that so feel free to message if your looking for a shorter stay and maybe we can work something out.
You will be staying in the main dorm which has three bunks of six beds total. You will have access to the kitchen and common areas of the main house. The dorm room is shared with other travelers.
Volunteers will be responsible for most of their own food at this but are free to pick from the many fruit trees here on the property when they are in season I.e. limes, mame, avocados, mangos, pineapples, bananas and anything growing in the garden. They will have access to the kitchen in the main house to cook as they wish. There are grocery stores within walking distance in the village and large farmers market in town, San Ignacio.
You will be a $1usd bus from San Ignacio so anything in San Ignacio you will have the option of doing. Tourism is big here and there is lots to see and do. Visiting ruins, caves, local eateries and more. San Ignacio is one of the cultural epicenters of Belize. Plus as an added bonus if there is space available at the other location we could arrange a stay there. This would be something that would have to be discussed once you are here.
