Hi, my name is Conor and I manage a small farm near Futaleufu, Chile. We grow non-certified organic food surrounded by old forests and snow topped mountain views. I speak English and am learning Spanish. We are looking for people who want to get their hands dirty and experience life in "el campo". The weather here is warming up and the garden greenhouse is starting to fill with green. This is the time of year to come and see the transition as the land wakes up and comes alive.

There is a lot of opportunity to learn about organic farming. There are several staff members who speak Spanish, two of which used to be gauchos in Argentina. The culture of "el campo" is all encompassing when you live and work here. This area has a real frontier spirit as it is fairly isolated from the rest of the country, creating a self sustaining atmosphere.
We are expecting a commitment of a month where you will be working 5 hours a day, 5 days a week. This is in exchange for room and basic food staples. Work ranges from care of our animals (horses, pigs, cows, sheep, and chickens) to growing a variety of vegetables and fruit. Expect to get your hands dirty, work hard, and hopefully have a good time as well.

Shared bunkhouse accommodation. Common kitchen facility (with dishes) and bathrooms are provided, both have running water. Mattresses and bedding are provided as well. All water is heated by a wood stove and all meals are cooked on a wood stove. We will provide basic food staples (such as rice, pasta, potatoes, beans, oil, etc) for three meals a day. Volunteers generally cook and eat together.
We are located along the Futaleufu River, a world class white water river, and are surrounded by the mountains of Northern Patagonia. Opportunities to hike, raft, and fish are found nearby.
