    Description

We are a young family, Roy and Annelie, with our daughter Maia and dog Amy. We came over to this lovely pueblo blanco in Iznájar in December 2021.

We have three casa's. One is for ourselves and the other 2 are for vacation rental casa's during april till September/October. Our casa is located in our own olive grove with a swimming pool. Around the area there are enough beautiful nature places to visit. The beach is just 5 minutes driving from here! We're also close from the bigger city's: Córdoba, Málaga and Granada.

As an inland village we are steeped in history which is worth exploring together with the traditional Spanish bars/restaurants which are in abundance in the area.
Iznajar itself has its origins with the Moors and houses the remains of an 8th century castle and a 16th century church. Lake Iznajar is a 32km fresh water reservoir which was commissioned by Franco during his rule, there is an Interpretation centre by the lake giving the full, sometimes harrowing, history. Visitors can learn to sail, kayak, windsurf on the lake. Granada is only an hour away and again steeped in Moorish history with the famous Alhambra castles & gardens or a little further to the Sierra Nevada mountains for walking or ski ing. Closer to home is Cordoba which was established as the capital of the Moorish Kingdom of El-Andlus, until its invasion by the Christians in 1236 who were so in awe of the beauty of the Great mosque - "Mezquita", they built their own cathedral amidst the rows of arches and columns.
As you can see there is a huge amount of history to learn plus outdoor activity should visitors wish to learn a new sport.
