Description
Escape to the mountains for an adventure.....
We are a collective made up of artists that facilitates collaborative projects, events and workshops, which explore alternative methods of learning/ working/ living.
Come and spend a few weeks taking part in a collective experiment in how we can live together; lead a workshop, learn new things, prepare for the apocalypse together, pick blueberries and swim in the waterfall.

Days are spent leading and taking part in workshops, exploring the mountains and forests, reading together, maintaining the houses and negotiating living together both practically and theoretically.
Help
The project is open to anybody who interested in exploring these ideas. Practically this means we expect everybody to facilitate a workshop of any kind (in the past we have had ceramics/kilnmaking, performance, poetry, printmaking, fabric dyeing, bread making, life drawing, yoga etc) and bring something we can read and discuss together, preferably related in some way to the project. We divide tasks such as cooking, cleaning dishes, collecting firewood etc between everybody. Some days we spend trying to improve the condition of the houses so this could include painting walls, digging up old paths and moving old furniture. We buy all our food from the local town we eat all meals together taking it in turns to cook. Most of the food is vegetarian, we cook on a fire or there is a wood pizza oven we use regularly too.

There are three old, semi-derilict houses in the Apennine mountains in Tuscany, Italy. The houses are surrounded by pine forests, blueberry fields and lots of paths to explore. The living conditions are quite basic; there is no electricity, we cook all meals on a fire, there is one outside tap and we sleep inside the houses on airbeds or outside on hammocks. We can provide a single bed in a private or shared room or hammock for workawayers, whichever is preferable. We wash in the streams or waterfall nearby.
What else ...
The nearest airport to the houses is Pisa. The nearest town, where we pick up workawayers, is San Marcello Pistoiese. There are trains and buses from Pisa (via Pistoia and Lucca) to San Marcello Pistoiese. The houses are a 30 minute drive from San Marcello Pistoiese.
