  • Description

Our place is a unique meditation ashram located in Jang-heung, Chollanam-do, located in a quiet village surrounded by nature, 50 minutes by bus from Gwangju. It is a quiet, peaceful meditation center for those who pursue healthy life and look for a place to rest and meditate. Ashram is embraced by U-san village, represented as cow, the holy animal in India, so this place is full of holy, clean energy. We provide vegetarian meals from our organic garden and run a training program based on eco-friendly Satyananda yoga inspired by the Bihar School of Yoga. It is an open space for people who want to meditate and rest whether a short or long period of time. We welcome anyone whose mind and body are exhausted from daily life, the perfect place to destress and learn more about Meditation, Karma Yoga and Kirtan Mantra.

  • Help

As a workaway volunteer, there are many things to help out with, but at the moment [harvesting time] mostly helping to tend the organic farm. fresh vegetarian meals are prepared from the farms abundant harvest. A wonderful opportunity to learn more about organic gardening hands on or if you miss gardening!
Swami Satyamitra tends the organic garden, but she is not a professional farmer. She cooks vegetables from the garden for visitors, or gives out to our neighbors and friends, so she does not use any pesticides or fertilizers.
The other need from volunteers is in building construction as there is a plan to build a new dining space. If you have skills in construction, can handle heavy work or enthusiasm to learn that would be great!
