In 2014 we decided to live full time in our family house (a château in the family since 1840 ! ) in the middle of Morvan Natural Park. Bernard is a passionate gardener and a great lover of forests as well as an enthusiastic building renovator. He has a deep interest in arts. Valérie has been engaged into a yoga and meditation path as well as into an artistic quest (lyrical singer, flower designer, amateur writer) since teen age. In 2014 they thought they would like a change of life, coming from city life near Paris and decided to create a yoga and arts center in their family house.
We both want to create a place of harmony and calm, a place of unity and joy. Calmness doesn't mean dullness : parents of five children and grand parents of three small kids we love a house full of life and friendship.

We shall be happy to share our French culture and language, as well as our love for nature and our interest for yoga, meditation and arts.
Retreats taking place from March to November almost continuously Valérie has stopped teaching weekly yoga classes and will not offer regular yoga practise as she used to but she is glad to share occasional yoga and meditation practise as well as long walks. Some of the instructors who teach retreats at our place may let you attend some classes as long as you can understand French.
We share lunch meals and suppers are either taken together or separately according to schedule and preferences.
Great opportunity for lovers of nature and those in need of a break ! Great place for drawers, painters, photographers...
Our place is rather big and we need help to go on renovating it here and there (simple masonry work, painting and wall papering, wood work...). we usually plan renovation work from September to November and in March.
In the wall-garden we grow our own organic vegetable and fruit and we grow flowers as well for the necessary beauty of colours !
The park also needs tending as we are renovating it after several decades of carelessness.
There's work in the garden and in the park from April to October.
We might also ask for help in the household (family cooking, cleaning, ironing...) as we are very busy with the retreats.
So there's work for all and of all kind in a cheerful atmosphere.
Our children live all over the world and have travelled a lot so we want workawayers to be as happy at our place as our children have been at others'.
We both speak English.
French. English. A bit of German and Spanish.
A room in our house with a bathroom and meals in our kitchen.
Minimum stay : two weeks. We're glad if you plan a long stay : in this case we suggest a first try during two weeks, and renewing our mutual engagement monthly afterwards.
We host workawayers since February 2017. Wonderful experiences. Much longer stays than first designed for most of them !
When the children were younger several babysitters stayed with us for several months and we remained friends over the years.
In the surroundings you will find preserved nature, silence and simple people. Lots of hiking paths. Many artistic initiatives on a modest but friendly scale. The nearest "big town" is Autun : a beautiful ancient town. At an hour train drive, Dijon, Beaune and Lyon are great cultural centers. Nearer to our house, the great archeological centre of Bibracte and the buddhist Temple of Thousand Buddhas.
