Hola! This is Andrés.
4 years ago I started hosting travelers from all over the world in my humble and always provided with positive vibes home. Since then it's been such a great adventure that has given me some of the best time of my life, some of the best people I've met and for sure the biggest lessons about myself and new ways of understanding life and the world. After this few years of running this hostel in Macao, and learning from it, I want to continue with this process of growing and improving this place that gives a natural and traditional option to visitors in Punta Cana area. And right there, is where I am going to need a hand! For now, what we need the most is video, photography, blog/social media content, etc.
*️️️️️️️️️️️️️*️️️️️️️️️️️️️If you like the countryside, camping, outdoors, nature and you can handle all the things that it brigs with itself > like bugs, farm animals, cold showers (who needs hot water in the Caribbean?), we have Wi-Fi most of the time, but the service sometimes is not that good and we have to deal with hours without internet < if you are open minded and curios about different cultures, this may be for you... If you don't like it that much, we consider you should join a different projects that fits you better =) *️️️️️️️️️️️️️*️️️️️️️️️️️️️*️️️️️️️️️️️️️
Our hostel is a LITTLE RUSTIC CARIBBEAN HOUSE in a beautiful COUNTRYSIDE space in Punta Cana area where travelers from all around the world have the amazing experience of getting immersed into the real Dominican culture, GOING BACK TO THE BASICS and merging with the Caribbean NATURE out of the most touristy/crowded spots, while having time and space for relaxing and/or exploring on their artistic side.
Since 2015, travelers from different corners around the world chose us to be part of their experiences in the DR.
At the beginning, the hostel only had one bed and one bathroom, but the beauty and colors of the little town enchanted our firsts travelers who helped (and still) reviewing and spreading the message around the world about our little blue house, the colorful town and beautiful beach.
Now our guests have the chance to choose among a 5-bed shared dorm, tents in our camping zone and 4 double rooms, also they have access to a kitchen, 3 restrooms, 3 showers, table games, bonfire place, fans in each room, clean line, Wi-Fi.

First of all, we are located in the Caribbean country side. So, you will have the opportunity to immerse in the real Dominican culture while sharing time and stories with travelers from all around the world!
Meet the friendly locals and listen to their stories. Sharing some time with the kids and if you want to get involve in our workshops project, you are more than welcome! (We schedule workshops for free to kids from November to March, if you would like to make one out of this range we could talk about it)... We want to help the kids to discover their own talents through art, music, languages, respect for the environment, etc.
We are learning everyday through our projects and ideas, You can get involve as much as you want and be part of this learning process!
The help we currently need :)
1 person with photography and writing skills (marketing or web design is a plus). Love and passion for these arts, in order to create some content for our blog and social media about the hostel, Macao town and the living/traveling in the Dominican Republic. (Languages: Spanish and/or English)
1 person for Cleaning & Maintenance. We like to keep our rustic house clean, comfortable and beautiful. We need people to help us with the cleanliness of our hostel, getting beds ready for the new guests and take care of some details, like painting, organizing stuff, basic maintenance in general. We have a big garden and we have some cool ideas for it, you can bring your own ideas and we can make them happen =)
It is important that workawayers enjoy sharing time with people from all around the world. Some times we need help with front desk/hosting tasks - like check ins and check outs, show the place, provide information about the town, activities, etc., workawayers are also the welcoming face of our little blue house, so good vibes and good hearts needed!
We have 1 room designated to our volunteers/team, Inside the room you can find 1 single bed and a bunk bed, a fan, mosquito nets, electric outlets and we also provide pillows, bed sheet sets and towels.
Bathrooms and kitchen are shared.
There are a couple surf schools (Yes, you can surf), you can have some lessons or rent a board if you already know how to surf. Of course, get tanned and enjoy the beach.
You can visit the little local restaurants and try delicious and real Dominican food.
Horseback riding, walking, jogging around the town are other great options, you can take different and beautiful paths and reach a lake, a river and also abandoned hotels.
We also organize trips to different places of Dominican Republic, focused on more natural environments and beautiful landscapes, and some nights we go out to dance, have fun, listen some music, play some music, (We are involved in the music scene of Punta Cana - Andrés is a singer and producer - and many of our friends are musicians)
We are located nearby Punta Cana Airport (around 35 minutes by car), Bavaro, Uvero Alto, Higuey and 3 hours from Santo Domingo among other frequently visited destinations around the region. You can take a "guagua" in the corner of our street that goes to Higuey and from there you can connect to almost anywhere in the DR by public transportation.
