Welcome to our centre!
UPDATE .. Running low on funds we cannot do all we are planning this year, and whilst we would love help we cannot afford to keep anyone else...
We hope this will change soon and will welcome people as soon as we can
My name is Penny.. and I am A pretty crazy, happy colourful English woman living in Italy, with my partner Trish.
In former lives between us we have worked in healthcare, education, boat building, farming, and vehicle maintenance
We live with 7 dogs, and chickens and are soon to be joined by a Number of goats and several donkeys.
Our small enterprise is home to an ECO ART AND Cultural CENTRE in the very rural region of Molise in Southern Italy. .
Although we own the farm we provide a hub for a community, social and cultural association which aims to create community cohesion, develop, enhance and enrich the lives of those living in the region or visiting.
The name of our centre means a HUG or in the arms of the Tratturo..which are ancient shepherds tracks traversing Southern Italy,
We sit perched on the side of a pretty big hill, just over 600 metres, we can see the Appenine mountains on one side and the Tremite islands of the Adriatic Sea on the other.
Although there are buses which run past the end of the road there is very little traffic.
We are not isolated but it is pretty quiet and several miles into Lucito or Castelbottacio the two villages closest to us.
We can offer you comfortable accommodation in a caravan, but you will have to share it with other volunteers.
We will provide you with food and are pretty easy to get along with .
We are just getting started so don't expect anything posh or luxurious.
We can offer you clean comfortable accommodation in a caravan but you will probably have to share.
We will also provide you with food and trips in local towns and villages. We even have a few bikes you can use if you wish .
We need your help to set up and fun our centre.. where we are going to be offering
BASIC tractor and tool maintenance workshops
Family Art activities
Walks for fitness and fun
Land art workshops
And lots, lots more
This all sounds lots of fun but we have a lot of work to do too, so we need people willing to muck in and help with everything from building, cleaning, farming, painting walls and pictures, helping to create art installations, and anything else that crops up.
You will have an amazing opportunity to meet different People
Learn about the fascinating history of the Tratturo and the ancient Transumanza
To learn some Italian and English, French and other languages depending on who is visiting or working with us.
There will be opportunities to take part in art and cultural projects in theatre, literature, music, history, poetry
You can fit walking and cycling
Learn about dogs, chickens, donkeys and goats and eventually bees too
Share your smiles and develop your MINDFULNESS
AND JUST BE HAPPY

There are a whole host of other things you can do if you join us.
We hope too to work with several other eco friendly farms and projects locally so you will have the opportunity to meet others and learn more skills or share your knowledge and expertise
We offer accommodation in caravans which you will have to share depending on who is staying with us.
We provide bedding and towels but you are welcome to bring your own.
We have a community room used by the association too which houses a large selection of books and musical instruments.
You can use this space at any time.
We live in the small farmhouse and although we are happy to share it's very limited space with you we do ask you to respect our home.
There is limited Wifi in the house which you are welcome to use during in the day and in the evenings.
We would like to eat as a community and will provide meals for you.. we are not vegetarian or vegan but it is fine if you are along as you are happy to join in the communal meals.. we eat a fairly simple diet which includes mostly local healthy produce..
For safety reasons we do not provide any cooking facilities in the caravans, although you will have electricity and be able to make hot drinks and have your own fridge.
We have to be careful of vermin so encourage you not to keep food in your caravan and do expect you too keep them CLEAN
We are within easy traveling d distance of the Adriatic coastal towns of Termoli and Vasto, as well as the hilltop city of Campobasso.
You can easily get buses or trains to Rome, Pescara and Naples from Campobasso,
There is a bus which runs past the centre but it does not run in the evenings or on Sundays.
There are a couple of bars in local villages and we will often go to local festivals or music events in the region of which there are many all year round.
As we run hand in hand with local communities there will plenty of people for you to meet if you want.
Although Molise is a pretty rural region and although we do know how to party we value our peace and quiet at times too.
There is so much to see especially if you like art and or nature .. with an abundance of flowers and beautiful butterflies on your doorstep.. or amazing old churches and hilltop villages.
If you are fit enough to negotiate some pretty steep hills then you can use our bikes or you can take the dogs or donkeys for walks..
if you like art, music, nature, and happiness then Molise is waiting for you
