    Description

We are a Christian organisation - currently 2 guys and 1 female live on the farm although we expect this to increase - we are currently setting up the farm and are developing barns and have a few sheep, goats chickens cats dogs etc volunteers will receive free food and lodging - looking for people to feed the animals; do buildings maintenance; cleaning, painting; gardening - need someone also good at admin and computers etc. To help with charity receipts or the social media and website. We run a charity for the Homeless and a Foodbank in Bristol. Currently need strong guys to help with building tasks and fences etc but there is flexibility depending on your skills There are two sections to the farm the largest part has the aim of the establishment of a retreat centre - which will involve some farm animals for therapy ; some art; music ,Singing , craftwork, vegetable and flower gardens- there is a separate smaller section rented out to a local farmer not part of the charity or non profit work - our charity also has 3 buildings in Bristol one of which houses a foodbank, drop- in cafe for the marginalised and homeless; and runs various courses and offers counselling and prayer. If you can cook and like housework that’s also an option. There are a variety of tasks you could be involved with.

You can learn English, learn about farming and also about Christianity if that interests you as we are a Christian farm and there is musician living here who likes to sing and play around a campfire or bbq. Others like to pray as we plan to set up a retreat centre.

There are a variety of things you can do which could be farming with sheep, goats, , cats, dogs, horses and chickens ...... or you can do building work ie. we are renovating a barn - ;as roof leaks and it needs painting there are also various DIY repair jobs which doing around the farm - could be helping to put up a fence ...; you can also do some property maintenance in Bristol for the charity if that interests you ; There is also some computer/ and office help for someone who likes this type of task together with house work, cleaning and cooking; there is also a vegetable garden which needs to replanted and maintained as well as an orchard with apples, pears and plums. Another option for those with cooking skills could be to volunteer in a Charity cafe after the covid lockdown which serves free meals to the Homeless in Bristol for the odd day of the week. If you play a musical instrument you can join others with the same talent. So theres a lot of variety and options. We have only had this farm for a short period.

There are lots of amazing walks and cycle tracks nearby. We have spare bikes and helmets if you want to explore the area. Ideal for someone wanting to get away from the big city life and be part of a more communal home setting. Bristol a big city is only 30 mins away by bus or train and Weston Super mare a seaside holiday resort is about 6 miles away also accessible by bus. Or bike. We are also close to Wales and Devon and Cornwall
