    Description

HUGE THANKS FOR EVERYONES INTEREST. WE'VE HAD A GREAT SPRING, PERHAPS WE MAY SEE SOME OF YOU IN THE FALL?

We are a family run mountain lodge with two additional log cabins set in 12 acres of woodland in rural Golden, British Columbia. There's myself and my husband (ages around the 40'ish mark!), our two sons, 9 & 4, and Ollie the black labrador.

There are mountain views out of nearly every window, easy access to hiking and biking trails nearby and all the amazing activities that our great town of Golden has to offer. We love living here and truly enjoy sharing the experience with others.

We're currently in the middle of an exciting new chapter - there's lots going on from bathroom renovations, establishing a garden, making trails, building another log cabin and maybe even erecting the most epic treehouse ever (zipline included)! This winter we'll be focusing on some room renovations and getting our new log cabin ready for the Summer 2018 season.

We'd love to hear from you if you're willing to pitch in and help out with general labouring and outdoor tasks. Tell us where your skills lie or, if you'd like to learn something new then that too can be arranged. No day is ever the same at the Lodge! They'll be forestry work, log chopping, landscaping, trail blazing and whole load of fun.

We are particularly keen to hear from people with construction experience, for example framing, drywalling etc.

We'd appreciate 4-5 hours a day, 4-5 days a week with the option of staying for two weeks or more from the 27th March to the end of April.

We won't be asking you to clean rooms or do laundry - there's not much 'culture exchange' about that! But, if we do have guests then you should absolutely interact with them and learn about their culture, (our guests come from all over the world).

We have space for up to two volunteers, couples or friends travelling together are welcome. As we're in a rural location if independence is important to you then a method of transport (bicycle or car) to get the 8kms into Golden would be useful - but we're also willing to drop you places if we can.
