Hi, we are a family of four with a Labradoodle puppy and Holland Lop bunny.. We have always been interested in doing some sort of cultural exchange and this sounds perfect! We live in a semi-arid part of British Columbia called Kamloops. We think this would be a great opportunity to learn about another culture - especially for the kids!! - and to share how we live here in Canada.
Babysitting / child care
Cooking / shopping
Help in the house
We would love to help someone practice speaking and writing English if needed and to show them around our city. We would include our volunteer in any activity we do as a family and would most likely plan extra fun activities (hikes, drives, family gatherings) so they could explore the area and learn more about us and Canada.
We would like our volunteer to help with general housework/yardwork (e.g. tidying, clean floors, bathroom), cook dinner and help prepare lunches (we both work full-time) as well as play and have fun with the kids.
We live in a 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom house. There is a guestroom and bathroom downstairs for the volunteer with a computer (internet and Netflix).
We have a university here called Thompson Rivers University, if you are interested in possibly going to school here one day. There are outdoor activities (swimming, hiking, biking, camping, etc), shopping, a casino and movie theater, and we are fairly close to other cities you might want to visit like Kelowna (~2.5 hr drive) or Vancouver (~3.5 hrs).
Limited internet access
We have pets
We are smokers
