Language Center is a part of the State University in Khanty-Mansysk.
We teach foreign languages (English, German, French, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Finnish) as well as cultures. One of the goals of the Center is to be aware of the events, current trends of the world, so we accept volunteers from all over the world who want to become an Ambassador of their culture and worldview.
The center is located in the region of the local ethnic groups of Khanty and Mansi. The University has a club for the study of their languages and traditions, the volunteer will be able to take part in the preservation of the heritage of endangered cultures and languages.
Since foreigners do not come to our distant region often, each volunteer literally becomes a local star, which is invited to all events not only of the University, but also of the city. Volunteers will be able to participate in TV and radio programs, give interviews for Newspapers, etc.
The activity of teachers and volunteers of our center is not limited to the teaching of languages. Every time we come up with new activities. We shoot educational and entertaining videos, record headings on the radio, hold cultural evenings, debates, watch movies in the original, we are open to anything new.
Volunteers will get acquainted with the endangered culture and languages of the peoples of the North, try local cuisine and entertainment (for example, ride deer), take part in numerous activities of the University, get acquainted with science and research conducted at the University.
This host offers accommodation and payment.
We need volunteers who can:
- teach foreign languages (presented at the center, as well as their native)
- engage in extracurricular activities (for example, to hold a conversation club in English)
- help organize the activities of the Center
- take part in University events
- if the stay at the University is short-term, then a conversation club or similar event will be enough.
A volunteer is provided with a room or a place in a students' dorm. A volunteer will be surrounded by local people-teachers and students. The University has a dining room, meals are recommended, but paid by the volunteer. The volunteer will be provided with pocket money that can cover the costs of food and life in the city.
