    Description

Welcome to Mountshannon, where we offer an authentic Irish countryside experiences. Our property is a big house where Dirk, a friendly Irishman, lives with his son, and I, a Frenchman, reside in the house too. We are looking for people to assist us with the maintenance of our property, which varies depending on the season. Tasks such as gardening, weeding, painting, and creative projects are all part of the work. We also offer the opportunity to learn practical skills, such as DIY.

Our house is situated in the picturesque area of Mountshannon, surrounded by rural landscapes. We provide bicycles and a canoe to explore the beautiful surroundings. The nearest town, Scarriff, is located 8km away, where live music can be enjoyed on weekends. We are happy to take Woofers to the nearest bus station.

As creative and sociable people, we enjoy spending time with our volunteers. We mainly all sit down together for lunch and dinner, which is mainly omnivore. The accommodation is shared with other and our family, and each person has their own bedroom. We love hearing about your adventures and life stories, and we do different type of activities

It is important to realize that Mountshannon has very limited public transport. Once a week there is a bus that can bring you to Limerick or Ennis. Hitch hiking is quite common here and you are always welcome to use our bicycle. If you are into fishing, you will love the lake and I have a kayak you can borrow.
The hills around Mountshannon are lovely and great for hiking.
In the village itself there are two pubs and a pizzeria. The harbour is also quite nice to pay a visit to. On Saturday there is an Artisan market where people offer locally produced goods and have a chat with each other.
