I am looking for work and a place to stay this summer in Cork - ideally between Cork City, Clonakilty, and Kinsale. I received my undergrad degree in philosophy from UCC, and will be returning there this autumn for my master's. I would like best to stay at one place between 15 June and 1 September, but feel free to reach out if you have a shorter window available. I grew up on a small farm in Indiana, so I am happy to get my hands dirty and care for all sorts of creatures and the earth. I have experience working with equipment and machinery, and I am adaptable to different projects. Details about my experience is listed below.

I am a curious and energetic person. I am very active, and I cannot wait to be back in Ireland to swim and explore all its crevices. I love learning, meeting new people, stretching in the sun, reading, writing, and participating in the quiet movement of life. My partner is a wonderful musician who may come around sometimes to entertain us!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Animal Care:
I have grown up around animals and enjoy the work that it requires. I help my neighbor with her horses when I am home, and I have particular experience with cattle, alpacas, chickens, rabbits, dogs, and cats.

General Maintenance:
I have worked between travels and studies as a landscaper at the local church. I am comfortable operating tractors, chainsaws, drills, etc. I enjoy odd projects and working with my hands; many of my recent workaways involved carpentry and tree surgery, so I am particularly comfortable with wood.

Farming:
I have done a huge variety of workaway stays in Central and South America. My favorite of these involved farming, gardening, and permaculture practices. I am interested in learning from more people in order to draw from experience when I have my own garden one day!

Was noch ...

I am an independent person who is happy working with others or on my own. I will have a bike and friends nearby, so I will be able to get out of your hair from time to time! I am looking for a semi-flexible schedule of about 5 hours of work on weekdays, and a place that will provide shelter and adequate food for a body that works hard.
