Hello!
I´m Sandra, a 23 year old who loves traveling and exploring new places. Something I hold close to my heart is traditions and I love my Swedish traditions but I also want to learn about yours. I spent two years in the USA as an au pair and loved being a part of their culture. Last fall I went on a solo trip to Germany and Denmark and it was great but there was something missing, I didn't get to experience their lifestyle I was more just observing from the outside. This summer I wish to really get to know the people and places that I´m traveling to which is why volunteering in a family would be great.
I´m currently working as a personal assistant to twin girls with autism and I love it and I love them. My plan is to begin my studies this fall and feel like this summer would be the prefect time to travel. Like I said I used to be an au pair and took care of a five year old girl, living in their house and helping out with different types of chores. You could say I´m used to sleeping away from home since I also now spend most of my time at work helping the twins in their apartment. I also coach kids in figure skating and I love motivating them to do their best and seeing their face light up when they accomplish something new. I work well both in a team as well as alone and I´m also good at taking initiative. I'm organized and I like helping out in ways that I can. I love hiking in nature, exploring cities and going for a swim.

I´m interested and in need of learning more Spanish since I´m really new to it and writing this profile I realize I could use some more knowledge in writing and spelling in English. I´m confident in teaching both English and Swedish and I actually used to teach Swedish at a Swedish school when I was in the USA.

Was könntest du arbeiten?
Something I really enjoy is baking, mostly sweets and I love decorating cakes but I wish to learn more about making bread. I´m pretty good in the kitchen since I´ve both lived alone and I cook for the girls at work. The same goes for laundry and cleaning and I actually worked a few months as a cleaner. Outside of all the normal household stuff I always help my mom with her garden and since I spent two summers when I was younger working as a gardener in a cemetery I would like to say I know a thing or two. I have always loved helping my dad work on stuff around the house sp for example I´ve helped build a deck and painted both outside and inside of the house. When I was younger I got a pet bunny that I both designed and built a cage for all on my own. I´m also now currently helping my sister renovate her new house and even though I´ve never done that before I´m there to help in any way that I can. Like I´ve said I have worked with kids for a few years now and I have experience in both good and difficult days in many different ways. Now when I´m working with people with special needs I use some sign language to support my communication and as you can imagine I have a lot of patience.

I´m really into sports and I used to compete in figure skating and I played soccer growing up. I enjoy coloring, crafts and reading a good fantasy book. I´m really active but can also find peace staying in watching a good movie. Me and my family love playing games together and when we sit down for dinner we usually play quiz games and for example when we went to our cabin last week we played a lot of Yatzy.
