On the lookout for nice projects to join in Croatia! Excited to meet new people and learn new things!

Beschreibung

Hi there, we are Dalma (33), Salvo (34) and Szaffi (7), our lovely dog. During the season we work in hospitality and for the rest of the year we travel to learn new things, get to know people, cultures and discover new places and have a better idea where to live in the future.

For now, we are looking for volunteering in Croatia and Slovenia, ideally working with animals, outdoors, or at an NGO involved in environmental issues, sustainable development or connected fields. But we are also open to any new experience.

We are both active people and are able to do manual labor during long days. We are generally good with our hands, not afraid of getting dirty, and are happy with being outdoors. We like working with other people, learning new skills, and connecting, but also enjoy solitude and getting things done independently.
In our free time we love to play board games, watch films, read, swim and go on long walks, ideally with as many dogs as possible.

I (Dalma) have gardening, animal care, hospitality, cooking, language, and some photography skills, am naturally curious, and pick up things quickly.
I like to think that I'm open-minded, cheerful, and hard-working. Beautiful landscapes, good books, nature, and being surrounded by animals make me happy.

I (Salvo) have experience and enjoy working with people from different cultural backgrounds, interpreting and mediating. A community setting energizes me. I also enjoy tinkering and repairing things around the house and caring for and spending time with animals. I never say no to watching a good football game either.

Szaffi is a 7 years-old rescue girl who loves exploring with us, transporting logs that are too big for her, chilling after long walks, and making new friends. She is great with dogs and adult humans, but small children sometimes scare her. She's calm, friendly, and well-behaved and is used to sleeping indoors with us.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We are physically fit, can garden (Dalma more than Salvo), repair things around the house (mostly Salvo), take good care of dogs and cats, lift reasonably heavy objects, cook, clean, cut wood, and do many other things with enthusiasm.

I (Dalma) have the most experience in gardening, animal care, and hospitality, having worked on permaculture projects, in a dog shelter for almost a year, hostels, B&Bs, resorts, restaurants, and clubs.
I also enjoy painting walls, plastering, and organizing messy (or even medium-messy) spaces.

I am a literary translator (English-Hungarian) and masseuse, love reading good books and hiking. I'm naturally pretty tidy and keep a neat space wherever I go.

I (Salvo) am a cultural mediator, receptionist and diy-enthusiast. I worked with immigrants in communities, hospitals, tribunals and various offices, helping them communicate and integrate into their new socio-cultural reality.
I also worked in hostels, resorts, and a kitesurf-school, among other places.

As for Szaffi, she usually adjusts quite quickly, is gentle (or suspicious and observes from a distance) with cats, chicken, sheep, goats, ducks etc., excellent at fetch, cuddling, and many more.
