Hi! My name is Esther, 24 years old and I am a graphic design graduate. Right now, I am taking a sabbatical with the intention to travel a lot. At the moment I'm traveling with my friend through Central-America and we've been working as volunteers in Panama (Valle de Anton and Bocas del Toro) and in Costa Rica (Monteverde). Before that, I've been volunteering in Morocco and Kenya. What I like most about travelling is to discover other cultures and to connect with others. By volunteering in different places we can also contribute to these communities, which is more valuable for the community as well as for me. Also, I love to explore nature to give myself a break from the Belgian city life. I am in love with breathtaking, infinite landscapes and sunsets. In my free time I like to do all kinds of sports, practice yoga and surf, enjoy concerts and festivals, make photographs and work on creative diy projects.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

The last 5 years, I’ve been studying communication, cultural studies and graphic design. In my third year of my communication degree, I went on an exchange and studies in Montreal, Canada. I’ve always been a traveler but after this experience I discovered the beauty of getting to know other cultures.
One year later, when I was studying cultural studies, I had to organise an exhibition from scratch with four other students. I loved this experience and think it represents my organisational skills. Last year, I volunteered in an orphanage in Kenya. I helped the kids in their daily activities, helped cooking, sewing their uniforms, etc. This year I've volunteered in 3 places in Morocco where I made bricks to build a kasbah, worked in a dog refuge and in a restaurant/surf shop. The past months I've been working in different hostels and guest houses in Panama and Costa Rica. These experiences also improved my language skills (French in Montreal/Morocco, English in Kenya and Spanish in Central-America). Because of my degree in graphic design, I know how to use the Adobe programs Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop. I also love to take photos, especially from nature.
I've also been working in a travel agency and before that I worked in a clothing shop as a student, where I learnt how to be customer oriented and improved my interpersonal and communicative skills. Before this job, I worked in the event and catering sector.

Was noch ...

I am very sporty and love to be active, especially surrounded by nature (hikes, surfing...) I’m also a huge art and music-lover, love to experiment in the kitchen and have a passion for photography. Next to that I'm eager to learn new languages and i'm also very interested in spiritual development.
