Our Lodge is the perfect haven for wildlife enthusiasts and those looking to live in the heart of nature. Set amongst 25 acres of private forest in the East of Sri Lanka, there’s no better place to experience all the amazing wildlife Sri Lanka has to offer.

Just 3½ hrs drive from the city of Kandy and 2 hrs drive from Arugam Bay, our high-end eco-lodge is situated on the border of one of Sri Lanka’s least explored National Parks. It’s the perfect location to stay and enjoy the island’s only boat safari.

The lodge is made up of 9 secluded bungalows and a 2 room villa. Each bungalow is a fusion of the traditional and the contemporary, blending natural materials such as illuk, cadjan and wood with modern touches of comfort and luxury.

We’ve created sustainable living spaces that reflect our eco philosophy. Every bungalow has a spacious bedroom including a king sized bed, plus a sitting room opening onto a private veranda. The bathroom is fit for two, containing his and her sinks and indoor and outdoor showers - complete with solar-powered hot water. Local furnishings add touches of Sri Lankan style to the interior, providing a colourful and comfortable setting for an intimate retreat within the forest.

The main lodge boasts a spacious restaurant and bar that overlook our pool and the surrounding mountains. Guests can choose between a range of Western or Sri Lankan cuisine and even pick some produce from the Lodge’s very own organic garden.

Our Lodge is also known for its unique safari activities. Guests can enjoy a wide variety of excursions – all accompanied by our Lodge’s expert naturalists. Experience Sri Lanka’s only boat safari within a National Park, and witness herds of elephants living in their natural habitat. We also offer walking excursions, jeep safaris and a special visit to the indigenous Vedda tribe.

The jungles of our National Park are home to some of the richest biodiversity in all of Asia, and we can take guests right into the heart of nature to experience wildlife in a whole new way.

The role of the Guest Relations Officer is to provide a high level of support to the staff and information to guests at the Hotel’s front desk and handle enquiries relating to reservations with our Lodge Host. Guest Relations Officer is responsible for giving a warm reception to guests and making sure that they are satisfied with their stay. Responsibilities include greeting clients as they arrive, coordinating their check-ins to assigned rooms and informing them about the hotel’s facilities.

Living abroad is really the best way to learn a new language since you are forced to challenge and practice your skills on a daily basis. To elaborate further on the unique role as it is certainly not for every one. There is no internet and limited phone reception any where around the lodge and opportunities to go and get internet only come around about once a week. When at the lodge you are very much there and embracing the jungle life style is key, the role is very much ensuring the guests activities are organised and they have the best guest experience they can, so is very much guest relations focused with you welcoming and saying farewell to every guest. Having a drink and meals with them in the evenings and encouraging guests to meet each other will be a important role each evening.

An eye for detail and ensuring the property, rooms and public areas are kept clean, fresh, and looking inviting. (some thing that can be a constant battle against the jungle.)

We also wanted to ensure your salary expectations are in line with what our Lodge can afford.

All expenses at the lodge are covered (housing, utilities, laundry, meals in the guest restaurant, etc) you will have no expenses except for drinks which we bill you at cost plus 10%. The salary is £ 300 this has been more than enough to use on your 6 days a month leave to explore the island.
