A little story about our Magical little farm..

In Mid 2020 My partner Ayu" and myself Wahyu" started training with Permaculturist and Natural farmers from all over Bali.

This was because I lost my job in Canggu as a bar tender, while Ayu was forced to continue her law studies online.

Both Ayu & I came from Families of farmers and we realize the importance of growing food, but there was a missing link, Regenerating our land.

In Bali the older generation will do anything to ensure their children go to school and become successful, they will go as far as selling their own land. Land that was passed down from our ancestors, land they were told to protect,
And once the pandemic hit Bali, It was clear why...

Having a small plot of land passed down from my father, Ayu and I decided to start our own Regenerative Farm, and with the unbeatable support of our family, the guidance of Balinese natural farmers as well as western practices we found online, we took off on this incredible journey!

We are far from perfect, and we really need your help and support to fulfill our dream! We want to learn all about how to live more sustainably, finding alternative way to produce our own everything ! We still have a big waste problem need help to find alternatives 🙏

Our farm is only 20 are (2000m²), located on the foothills of Batukaru mountain range.
This plot had not been used for over 6 year, so we are very confident that we have little to no trace chemicals from previous farming activity.

Our system is as closed circle as it gets.,

We only use rain harvested water as we do not have access to any water. For the first 4 month we prepared our soil with the highest quality Compost and liquid fertilizers that we made ourselves, using some local recipes passed down from our family and teachers.

As far as compost goes, ours has been the backbone of our entire farm!
We use the wide variety of local ingredients to promote increased microbial activity as well as a high concentration of minerals and organic matter.
Our recipe is a bomb of diversity, a masterpiece of biological engineering!

This is the reason why we are certain that the quality of our produce is not to be compared with normal "organic farming", even if certified.

We are building healthier landscape, increasing biodiversity, retaining water, producing the highest level of nutrient dense food, all the while setting an example of what Permaculture & Natural Farming should stand for here in Bali, as it is not just a trend of growing vegetables and being lazy.
We also hope to set an example for our generation who has been fixed on modernization and have been taught to look down on farmers, deeming them poor and uneducated, as if they where not the ones feeding the world.

We heavily mulch our garden beds to retain water because we depend on rain. more importantly our paths are deep wood chip mulched as well, so to not compact the soil between the garden beds, letting the mycelium network spread uninterrupted throughout our farm, ensuring a very strong nutritional delivering capability. So much more goes on under there, we probably will never really know ;)

There are big trees ( some even over 100years) that border our farm, who mine deeper minerals, retaining water and protection from strong winds, as well as home for the predator birds that keep our farm healthy from pests.

We are still small and are running at 60% capacity,, but we have done a lot of work over the passed 14 months from when we only had overgrown empty plot of land,

We are growing every day and our farm will only be getting healthier and more productive with the months and years to come. This way we can prove that there is a better, more responsible and most importantly, more resilient way to grow food, in harmony with our nature, all the while being profitable.

Our farm might not have the biggest variety or selection just yet, but we can guarantee without a doubt in sight, that what we grow is incomparable to your common greens.

You may come visit anytime, and see for yourself.

We are confident you will be leaving with much more than you were searching for, something an organic certification could never do 😉

A big Thank You from our family here at our little Farm
    🙏🏽🙏🏽
