Hello! My name is Marianne, I’m originally from Switzerland. I farm with my husband Kelvin and our 4 year old son on a small ranch located 40km from High Prairie AB. We speak both French and English. We love nature, working on the farm with animals. We have cows, chickens, a pony and a farm dog. We try to grow our own food as much as possible. We are a Christian family who enjoys meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds.
We practice holistic management which means we work with nature in order to improve animal welfare, soil health and the environment. We believe cattle can be used as a tool to sequester carbon when managed holistically.

What we offer:
- opportunity to be involved in regenerative agriculture and permaculture

Cows: we move our cows every 1-3 days to give them access to fresh pasture. You can help move cows, water and fencing.
Chickens: we buy day old chicks that need to be fed, watered and checked for appropriate temperature. After 3 weeks we put them on pasture and moved daily until we butcher them.
Laying hens: feeding, watering, collecting eggs.
Garden: weeding, watering and harvest.
House chores: babysitting, cooking, cleaning
English: Fließend

1 room in the basement, max 2 pers. Non smoking.
Food is provided, we will share meals. You're welcome to use our kitchen and participate in cooking. We love trying different foods!
During your time off, enjoy the great outdoors watching wildlife, hiking, fishing. Our ranch hosts elk, moose, coyotes, porcupines, skunks, grouse and many more! You are welcome to use our kayaks. Snipe Lake is only 10 minutes away, Little Smoky River 45 min. away. Our ranch is located 40km from the nearest town, with limited access to transportation. We usually go to town 2-3 times during the week.
