We're a small family-run farm and campsite, located in a quiet rural spot but close to the town of Frome. We grow vegetables and keep some livestock using organic methods, selling our produce locally.
Lots of trees, beautiful views and usually a good group of farmers and volunteers enjoying working together. We live on the site off-grid: PV panels for electricity, solar/woodburner for hot water, composting toilets etc. Interests in sustainability and local food.

Shared work and shared meals with a farm family and other volunteers near a lively small town provide lots of opportunities to engage with others. Events, cultural activities and nightlife just on the doorstep in town. Also opportunities to learn about small-scale farming and alternative local food production.
Help falls into 3 categories: (1) farming - mostly working in the gardens helping to grow vegetables, but also work with livestock, fruit and woodland; (2) small-scale building projects, carpentry and general site maintenance; (3) household help, cooking, cleaning etc. Volunteers with an interest in any or all of these areas very welcome.

For sleeping, usually in a caravan - basic but comfortable. Otherwise shared kitchen/living space with the farm family.
We're close to tourist sights such as Bath, Glastonbury, Bristol and Stonehenge. Nice walking/cycling from our door. Town centre a 20 minute walk. Good transport connections by bus or train from there to Bath, Bristol, London etc. We can collect volunteers from bus/train stations.
