Hi, we are a Spanish family of 4 living in Zaragoza (Spain) from September to June and in a town in Valencia (Spain) in July and August. In both places in 2 houses with backyard. We need workawayers for both places so that my children could improve her English (or French) and learn a lot of things with you and, at the same time, you guys have a very good time together by singing, reading, dancing, playing... Just like me with her!
We are almost nomades, we like to travel a lot and we are out of the city every weekend and some days in the week due to work. We love sports, reading, eating out several days in the week... We are not a 'normal' family with strict timetables for meals, sleeping times, etc...
We are very open-minded, honest people, we like natural things, we are not artificial at all...
Regarding to myself, I am very interested now in how children can learn languages and some ways of 'attachment education'...
My oldest daughter, who is 5 years old, is completely bilingual English-Spanish, as some different American/Canadian/British nannies/aupairs/teachers have been taking care of her since she was born (but always with me at home). I would like to continue with this good work. We also would like to introduce little by little French.
We usually travel 2 weeks in August, the first 15 days or the second ones depending on our jobs, that's why we don't look for a workawayer in that period (the only one in the year plus Christmas time).

You only have to be with us from 8.30am to 1.30pm from Monday to Friday, and after that, you would have your own and independent life in the apartment with your flatmates, friends, etc. You will have all the afternoons, nights and weekends free for you. If you want to travel more days or maybe you miss a day whenever you want, that is ok as long as we make the hours up next week by doing more hours per day.
We think it is a good way to combine a 'workaway job' with a young and independent way of life in a foreign country. If you like independancy, this is your place.
You can take advantage of your free afternoons to give conversation lessons to adults or children after-school, if you feel like doing it. People in Spain are really really interested in this kind of classes and you can get 15€ / hour very easily. It is also really easy to find students for these classes, anyway we can help you (websites, etc) as we really know about this, we have been doing that for tons of years ;) We helped all our aupairs with that. IT'S A GOOD WAY TO COMBINE A FIX (AND EASY) JOB IN THE MORNINGS (WHEN YOU CAN'T FIND STUDENTS AS ALL THE PEOPLE ARE WORKING OR AT SCHOOL) WITH EXTRA MONEY IN THE AFTERNOONS BY INDIVIDUAL LESSONS).
THE IDEA IS THAT WE PROVIDE YOU THE INDEPENDENT HOUSING, THE TRANSPORT AND THE MONEY FOR FOOD SO YOU DON'T NEED EXTRA WORK FOR LIVING IN SPAIN, YOU WILL HAVE ALL YOUR DAILY EXPENSES COVERED. AND THEN IF YOU WANT TO TRAVEL, ETC YOU CAN USE YOUR FREE TIME (QUITE A LOT) TO MAKE EXTRA MONEY (AND EASY) FOR YOUR TRIPS OR WHIMS, BUT YOU CAN LIVE PERFECTLY HERE IN SPAIN ONLY WITH OUR POSITION INCOME.
After our experience with so many nannies we can now say more or less how their life was here, so you can now apply it for you. Usually they came home around 8.30am to 1.30pm. Then they left to their appartment to have lunch and rest (siesta time). Most of them used to teach to other students after work/school around 2 hours, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm (the average extra money they did was around 150-200€/week). After that, some of them went to the gym, other to art classes, other went shopping, other hanged around with friends, Spanish classes, Spanish-English exchange in cafés...and then dinner with the flatmates or tapas outside... On the weekends they did lots of trips, excursions, sightseeing and party time, of course. They met lots of people from their flatmates, fom parties, from hobbies, from languages exchanges, from Erasmus events, etc etc etc

We will be available for you too, of course, we can do things together sometimes if you want! We like sports (tennis, jogging, swimming), travelling, reading. We are an open-minded family.

Hi, we are a Spanish family living in Zaragoza from September to June and in a town in Valencia in July and August. In both places in 2 houses with backyard. We look for live-out positions in both cities 5 hours a day Monday to Friday in the mornings, so if you are an independent young woman that wants to separate work from your personal life and you want to have time to travel around Spain by short trips from Friday afternoon to Sunday, this is your place! You only have to be playing (and teaching basics just a bit), no chores at all!
We have a 5 y.o. daughter and a 1 y.o. baby girl. The position is only for my older daughter or mainly for her (the baby could be around you sometimes).
She speaks English as a native British girl as we have already had 8 aupairs and nannies so far (I have recommendation letters from all) talking in English to her, since she was 2 y.o. Previously we attended some baby English classes (for mummies and babies) and also I talked a bit of English to her. She usually watches TV, movies, youtube videos… everything in English. I think she thinks in English as well , at least she dreams in English sometimes.
I state this because the position in Zaragoza is not for teaching English but for being with a Spanish kid who is completely fluent in English, as a British little girl. On the other hand, the position in Valencia is for teaching French as she knows very little.
Our daughters are not attending school nor nursery (we are homeschoolers) and we work at home (we are self-employed engineers, my husband and me). So I will be always at home while you are with my daughters, you wouldn’t be with them alone.
We are constantly looking for native people. We decided to divide the year in 4 parts (4 positions), 3 of them in Zaragoza (for native English speakers: UK,USA, Canada, Ireland, Australia) and 1 in Valencia (for native French speakers: only France).
Position 1: From the beginning/mid September till Christmas time – Zaragoza (native English speakers)
Position 2: From the beginning/mid January til the end of March – Zaragoza (native English speakers)
Position 3: From the beginning/mid April til the end of June – Zaragoza (native English speakers)
Position 4: From the end of June or beginning of July til the end of July or mid August – Puçol (Valencia) (native French speakers)

We decided to divide it like this due to different reasons:
    - For the workawayers that come from countries which require VISA (student VISA or work VISA) for more than 3 months, so this way you can come with the tourist VISA because all the positions are 3 months duration or less.
    - It is a good period to try to know if you like the experience or not, and even to decide to continue or not with us if both parts are happy (unless we have committed with someone else for the next position).
    - To meet more people and to know more accents and more skills.
    - Position 1 maybe is the one that we would need preferably European workawayers than from other countries as its length is a bit more than 3 months, but if we like the application a lot we could do 15-september to 15-december but initially we prefer a bit longer

BUT, ANYWAYS, IF YOU WANT TO WORK WITH US FOR THE WHOLE SCHOOL YEAR YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME.

If you are a native English speaker you can apply for positions 1, 2 or 3 (they are exactly the same, in Zaragoza). You can apply for 1, 2 or the 3 of them but you can’t apply for 1 and part of the other, it is to say, it has to be complete positions (3 months based period).
If you are a native French speaker you can apply for position 4 only. It is a bit different from the others but also a live-out position.
The explanation for the positions 1, 2 and 3 is the following:

    POSITIONS 1,2,3:
    Live-out position – Zaragoza – 25 hours a week
We own an apartment and we rent its rooms out to young people (students, young workers for big companies, etc), and then one of these rooms would be for you. The appartment is like 35-40 minutes distance in total from home (4 minutes walking, 25 minutes by tram and 6 more minutes walking). The apartment has 4 rooms (with its own tv) and 2 bathrooms (each one shared by two people), kitchen, WIFI connexion, modern and new furniture, heating, air conditioning, terrace, CLEANING OF COMMON AREAS DONE BY A CLEANING LADY, etc. You will be able to enjoy your own privacy, independent and "young people" life. Also, most of the tenants are Spanish, so you will be able to practise Spanish a lot in a day-a-day basis Spanish life. We pay for you for the rent of the room and all its expenses (heating, electricity, water supply, taxes, cleaning of common areas, etc) and for food (we can reach an agreement of buying a groceries purchase every week for up to 50€/week for food for you). We also pay for the transportation card in Zaragoza which can be used to come home but also everytime you need to catch the tranvia, the bus, etc inside Zaragoza (as many times as you want) to go everywhere in the city (monthly urban transport pass).
Our appartment and our house are both in Zaragoza city.

The explanation for the position 4 is the following:
    POSITION 4:
    Live-out position – Puçol (Valencia) – 25 hours a week
The position is similar to the ones in Zaragoza but now this is for summer (between 1 month and 2 months), our house is in a town by the beach and the residence of the workawayer is in Valencia city in a shared apartment (a room).
THERE IS ALSO THE OPTION TO LIVE IN A HIGH LEVEL 200M2 APARTMENT ONLY FOR YOU BUT IN THE TOWN. THIS IS A GOOD OPTION IF YOU COME WITH A FRIEND OR PARTNER. IN THIS CASE WE WILL BUY FOR YOU A RETURN TICKET TO VALENCIA EVERYDAY. IF YOU COME WITH SOMEONE ELSE IS OK BUT ALL THE PAYMENTS, TICKETS ETC ARE ONLY FOR YOU.
The schedule will be different: 2pm to 7pm Monday to Fridays (25 hours a week too).
The town we live in is situated by the beach near Valencia (15 kilometers on the North) and it is called Puçol. You can come by train (15 minutes). We would pick you up from the town train station.
Also, you could have a snack at home with my daughter during the 5 hours you are going to be with her, of course, FOR FREE.
