We tend a beautiful and sacred bit of vegan land and want to express sustainable practices beautifully while having fun, learning, & growing. Raising native plants with captured rainwater, finding new ways to assist the community, starting new ventures to hand over to new entrepreneurs, we do so many things here. Also, we are creating connections with healers, yoggis and other spiritual masters and seekers so they can come and do ceremonies in this sacred space. The land and surrounding area have been inhabited by ancient civilizations for thousands of years and the evidence is all around. Explore via bus (¢75), we can lend you a bike anytime, take motor scooter when it's running.

We have trails leaving from the house to the surrounding 33 million acres of BLM land and wilderness. Our property ajoins the Native Tohono O'odham Nation but you will need to make your own friends for guidance and permission there. We will introduce you but then the rest is up to you and them. Helpful hint: respect is everything! We will have group field trips into the Reservation for awesome cultural events, pow wows, festivals and such, also we will be heading off to the BEACH!
A very interesting and beautiful 1.5 hour drive brings us to the beaches of Puerto Peñasco, Mexico! The beaches are on the very end of the Sea of Cortez so you feel like you are in the Mediterranean where the water is calm and warm. It's a vibrant hub of culture with plenty of shopping and activities available. Trips available upon request- don't forget your passport or a less expensive Border Pass.
Also ajoining is an RV park which makes for a very good neighbor in a tiny little oasis town. Our off season is summertime when it can get up too 122 degrees fahrenheit or 50 celsius and it becomes a hermits dream of solitude and tranquility punctuated by almost nightly monsoon storms lighting up the mountain range and occasionally spilling over to bring us beautiful rain! I recommend the hot season personally but my partner Rowan will affirm the winter is mild and perfect. Winter is when the area floods with "Snowbirds" and tourists and they get here just in time before us locals start going crazy with isolation, but then they leave just in time too!
Our front yard is basically the Organ Pipe National Monument. This park has everything! Rock arches, pronghorn sheep, ancient springs, incredible mountains and so much more. We live in the Heart of the Sonoran Desert and as such we are the stewards of the Sonoran Desert. When you are out walking and find ancient stone spheres used for games and ceremony, or ancient structures please do not move anything.
Watching the wildlife:
Our sacred land is committed to being in harmony with nature and we continue to strive to allow for the free flow of wildlife in, through, and around us. Sometimes you may need to tell a coyote or one of our lttle prairie dogs "Hey no hunting in the common area!"
The hawks love to perform ninja acrobatics just above us; Red-tailed hawks, Harris’s hawks, Cooper’s hawk, Golden Eagle, Northern Harrier, American Kestrel, and the American Kestrel are our local raptors and they are not too shy here. Countless other birds will be around daily. Everything we build must include at least ten percent wildlife habitat and ten percent art, even a simple shade structure, so we have many other birds, lizards, burros, coyotes, spiders, scorpions, butterflies, snakes, rabbits and hares, foxes, bobcats, the occasional jaguar, the desert tortoise, horses, refugees, and likely some interplanetary visitors as well but you will only see what you are available to see so I recommend plenty of leisurely drifting about the property. Oh and yes plenty of UFO's and lounging recliners for viewing.
We have so many things to do but at a very casual pace so it really depends on what you want to do. It should be more like just having fun and following your nose to the Wu Wei. We can use more help with lying in hammocks, cloud watching, hole digging, trail tending, outreach with the community, designers, idea pontificators, inventors, dreamers...
Planting, sprouting seeds, painting, decorating, making art sculptures with natural resources, welding, teaching, documenting, playing instruments, tending fires, making food, maintaining trails, sloping and swaling the land and gardens. You can learn how to do adobe mixes, build with natural resources, practice several local languages, engage with community, catch a rattlesnake, practice sustainable architecture or gardening.
Transform shipping container into housing. Make the RV into a lovely little cabin. Build a Kiva. Build experimental sleeping pods imaginatively.

In this desert climate you can fall asleep wherever you like and we have endless options but know that this is one of the darkest skies in America: docked RV(2) with the hookups, couches, tents, hammocks, huge sunken fire pit sleeps three, and the rooftop recliners. Plant medicines are welcome evidently not to the point of self damage, cigarettes are not allowed and not negotiable in the common areas unless ceremonial. Happy, responsible drunks drink, angry drunks are not permitted. Common outdoor flushing toilet, showers, urinals, sinks, and kitchen where you can prepare your own meals, we do not provide food. We offer $25 a week if you work for it on request, maybe not in the Summer though because there's no customers.
Must ascribe to vegan practices while on the property, eat a cheeseburger but do not bring it or even the leftovers onto the property. We can assist you in seeking out the proper nutritional needs.
We can facilitate building and installing permanent sculptures and murals in town. So much liberty your imagination is the only limitation.
I am a semi-retired performance artist, lifelong animal rights activist, sculptor, painter, freakazoid, who runs purely on doing service for others and becoming love. I make things happen but my partner Anna leads our space caravan. She'll have to introduce herself. She practices plant medicine healing retreats and has had many years of training and experience throughout central and south America.
Frequent trips to Ajo ten miles away for groceries and such. Convenience store one block away (the only block in town?). Bus with doorstep service ¢75
A word of caution: this is a difficult place for some people. We are very close to a Border Patrol station, helicopters, noisy trucks, intimidation, these are things to expect. Lately we've been invaded by a military force kicking up dust and being noisy in the air and on ground. Also everything here wants your blood, spikes, thorns, bites, they all want some. We move slowly here watching every step. We are near the highway but the border does shut down at night so it is mostly quiet.
I hope you drop in and check us out just be careful not to go much further you may fall off the edge of the world!
