Nicholas my husband, and my Mother Emily enjoy to share our home with volunteer workers. It is a large and wonderfull old place - This year 2015 we celebrate 800 years of one family in one place.
The garden which is circa 30 acres is open to the public in the Spring and Summer. We give historical tours of the house and offer teas and lunches to the visitors, either groups or individuals.
Most tasks relate to the garden, timber clearing, and bringing in timber to store for the wood burning furnace that keeps the house toasty warm. weeding, planting, vegetable gardening.
Salmon fishing takes place for a few months in the Summer. Dry stone walling for those with experience.
Volunteers will need to be physically strong and be prepared to work hard, but we don't expect all volunteers to be able to do everything. In the evenings we enjoy to gather in the kitchen while supper is cooking and chat.
Volunteers are accommodated in the house with the family in the guest bedrooms.
Time off can be spent enjoying river sports such as kayaking, rowing, swimming.
Bicycles, or walking in the forest enjoying the nature.
There is a bus service to Dungarvan our local town which is 25 mins away
