I’m hoping to join my family for Christmas and would like to find a Workaway couple who might enjoy a stay in my home in the Comox Valley while house/dog sitting for two weeks December 18 to January 2. The house is on 4 acres near the end of a cul-de-sac and is just a couple doors down from Seal Bay Park, an immense park with walking, biking and horse trails which is right on the ocean. The big attraction in the Valley at this time of the year is snow on Mt. Washington which is about 30 minutes from here with its excellent downhill and cross country skiing. The dog (Morgan) is a very well trained 6-year-old border collie who is obedient and fond of company and walks in the park. The house has three bedrooms including a fully equipped private apartment and there would be a car for use. The weather at this time of the year is unpredictable but you just might get snow for Christmas. For people who would rather not tromp through the snow, I have a wood burning fireplace and large-screen TV and good Wifi.
I have travelled all over the world in my former life as a photojournalist, and I'm eager to learn more about where you're from.
Need help with planting, watering and maintaining my large garden and grounds, especially cutting grass and trimming. I do have a ride-on lawn tractor. If you've never gardened before, don't worry...I'll give you clear instructions of what I need

Private apartment with private facilities - WC/shower and kitchenette. You're welcome to sit on our deck and use the barbecue as well. If you have a car, there is plenty of space for you to park in our drive.
We are literally a five minute walk to the beach in Seal Bay Park. In your time off, you'll love hiking or biking at Seal Bay Park, swimming at Kye- or Airforce Beach, or visiting some of the nearby sights such as Mount Washington, or the towns of Comox, Courtenay, or Campbell River.
