ALOHA from The Beautiful Lush Slopes of HAWAII!
Our names are Shaheer & Maria! We live the vibrant, jungle paradise of South Kona, surrounded by coffee farms, fruits and flowers. Ou home is perched on a hill overlooking Kealakekua Bay and Honaunau, a sacred place inhabited by the ancient Hawaiians. It is a favorite destination for world travelers, particularly for scuba divers and snorkelers who enjoy crystal blue waters teeming with colorful reef fish, dolphins and manta rays. There is a sweet and loving spirit that we call ALOHA, which is felt in the everyday interactions of people who live on this island.
Within this little piece of heaven, we are creating a beautiful environmentally conscious home with edible gardens . The house is already built, but is currently being reconfigured, painted, and re-imagined to host travelers and group retreats.

We are world travelers and have educational backgrounds in real estate, law, anthropology and education. Maria has Costa-Rican and American roots and is bilingual in Spanish/ English. Shaheer is Egyptian American and understands some Arabic, in addition to his first language, English . We love meeting people from around the world! We can provide travelers with an insider's view of the island, exposure to Hawaiian culture and some of the highlights of our area.
Travelers ideally suited for this place will need to have a helping, can do attitude. Flexibility and a desire to help in whatever task is at hand, is strongly preferred. Specific tasks may include house cleaning, painting, construction, healthy cooking, laundry, moving furniture, running errands, gardening, weeding, tree pruning, blowing leaves and power washing. No experience is needed for these things, but a willingness to try your best is a must!

A shared bedroom and the use of all common spaces is offered. The home has 5 bedrooms, most of which are occupied. Travelers may need to share a dorm style room with other helpers, with a maximum of 4 in a room.
There is a public bus that goes in front of the house that can take volunteers into town and around the island. Some people will opt to buy a cheap car or a scooter to get around. There are many fantastic places to explore nearby, such as tropical gardens, snorkeling beaches, historical sites, farms, the town of Kona and much more!
