We are a Pan-African organization. Our focus is to use creative means to improve areas of development in Africa. We create events and activities to unify people of African descent but also work in collaboration with people all over the world to teach, produce, distribute, and present positive African content that is unique. Our youth initiative sets out to provide access to arts and media opportunities for youths all over Africa. We are also big investors in agriculture; there is access to farms and other Agric projects happening on the ground here. So we are always looking for partners!

We are ever-changing, growing, and evolving!

Due to the global pandemic, we are really working with people remotely. Until Lagos State and the Federal Government approve regular programming and travel we will be putting our programs on hold until June 2021.

We are working with Workawayers in different ways:
Volunteers are helping us with our social media accounts, facilitating online workshops, as well as assisting with marketing, research, and grant/proposal writing.

If you are interested in doing any of these things above please contact us.

All our volunteers are given accommodations and feeding for an agreed upon period of time while working with our organizations. Accommodations and feeding provided for volunteers who have very specific skills, especially facilitation in agriculture, grant writing, research skills, etc. there is no fee. All volunteers are required to collaborate with the community, mentors, volunteers, etc. on ground in Nigeria. Our visitors will be immersed in the Nigerian culture and be able to interact with many of the different tribes that make up Nigeria from the Yoruba, to the Hausa, to the Igbo. Often times after completion of a community project there is a few days set aside for exploration of cultural spaces such as Olumo Rock, Ogun State and Erin Ijesha Falls, Osun State.

We are a collaborative space. Each volunteer, mentor, coordinator, teacher, parent, student, and partner works to teach and to learn from one another. We need volunteers interested in facilitating workshops and trainings, to help with research and grant writing, and who can help our team with conversations around social justice work and community outreach. We are empowerment focused. A typical outreach day would be: up at 8am, out by 9am, arrive at the partner locations at 11am for trainings, workshops, or community projects, lunch at 1pm, finalize at 2pm-3pm and back to the house.

    Unterkunft

This space is very homey. We've hosted tons of people from all of the world. Some rooms have only one bed and some have two beds. The rooms have a closet, night stand, bathroom with shower and toilet. A mosquito net is provided as well as sheets and towels. Power is not constant in Nigeria but we do have a generator and solar power. Breakfast and dinner as well as beverages such as water are provided - there is a food table so everyone eats the same meals but adjustments are made for individuals with dietary restrictions.

There are tons of things to do in Lagos! It is a truly beautiful country though it can be stressful. Things do not run as they should more times then not, Nigeria is a growing nation and is ever changing. We are hopeful we will get there as we continue to develop and grow and we need our volunteers to have that same attitude. Flexibility is key in this environment and you will also be supported by and collaborating with mentors and volunteers from our organization who will be excited to show you some art spaces, take to eat local foods, hang out at our Nigerian spots and restaurants, and/or take you to cultural events.
