    Description

Namaste, welcome to Bandipur. Me and my family have lived here for the last 8 generations. After I finished working as a social worker travelling to communities all over Nepal I decided to settle back home living a simple and sustainable lifestyle. I build a homestay on the top of the hill overlooking all of Bandipur, most nights we can see a spectacular sunset and the Himalayas from our terrace. My mother and I live here now by ourselves, we are both vegeterian and can mostly eat the fruits and vegetables from our garden. We have a big property with more land further down the hill on which we would like to grow vegetables and grains as well.

Since it is just the two of us we have a lot to do. We can't keep up with all the gardening and taking care of the guests that come to our guesthouse. We would like people to help with everything that has to be done around the house, that includes working in the garden, general maintenance and helping me with community projects.

It´s also possible to work 3 to 2 hours a day, but either the food or the accomodation fee will be charged. The workawayer may choose wich one.

We have a spare guest-room which will be your own space. Toilet and bathroom is separate just up and another one down the stairs. When we are in the low season we can't provide meals for free, however you can just work less hours and many cheap food options are close by.

    What else ...

There is an abundance of things to do in Bandipur. You can experience the traditional life of the people living in this quiet mountain town which is very rewarding and grounding, especially the mornings are very peaceful. Through hiking you can explore many sunset and sunrise spots which look over the surrounding landscape and if you have a good eye you can see many fantastic birds. One of the biggest caves in Asia is within walking distance and yoga/ meditation classes are nearby.
