    Description

We are Hans & Irene (Dutch) and lived for 25 years on the Silver Coast near Fig da Foz, running a campsite. October last year (2023) we moved to our "Back to Basic" House on the edge of a small village in the middle of the National parque of Peneda Geres. As quiet as quiet can be. Centrally located in a scenic lush river valley with huge garden & great views.

We want to improve our house, artist studio and garden and build a woodshed. The upper floor is made into a workshop for printing, sewing (industrial machine) and goldsmithing. At the moment i experience with Linocuts & Screen Print technics.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

There is no public transport around here. Arcos de Valdevez (45 min by car) or Melgaço (30 min by car) are the place we go once a week for shopping. We can pick you up from there bus station in Arcos.

The natural beauty of Peneda Geres offers ample opportunities for outdoor recreation. From hiking and mountain biking in the surrounding hills and forests to swimming and picnicking along the small streams and waterfalls, visitors can immerse themselves in nature while enjoying a variety of activities.

On top of that, our region in Portugal is rich in cultural heritage and traditions that make it truly fascinating.
Actually this area is known for its vibrant folklore and traditional festivals, gastronomy, and natural splendor that makes it a must-visit destination for travellers seeking a genuine Portuguese experience.

We're excited to exchange knowledge and create memories together during your time on our house.
