WE DO NOT CURRENTLY HAVE ANY PAID POSITIONS AVAILABLE. WE DO NOT NEED HELP WITH OUR CHEESE BUSINESS.…
We are Lesley and Barry Million and we live in a passive solar home on 50 beautiful acres in the Missouri Ozark Hills. Our property consists of woods and pasture with a creek and a stocked spring fed pond. Our children are grown and off living their own lives so it is just the two of us and any volunteers and/or interns we have living on the farm at the time. Over the past several years we have enjoyed the cultural exchange with over 70 volunteers from all over the world!
We also own and manage a small farmstead goat cheese dairy. We manage our land and our animals as naturally and sustainability as possible. We are also part of a local community of farmers and are very connected with the local food movement in the area. Our cheeses are sold at local farmers markets, specialty grocery stores, and are served at several local restaurants.

Travelers staying with us have the opportunity to experience the beautiful Ozark Hills, the culture here, and learn about goats and cheesemaking.
This host offers accommodation and payment.
Tasks available through Workaway on our PERSONAL FARM include assisting us with our personal chores. Those might be feeding or caring for our animals (goats, poultry, dogs, etc.), household tasks, cleaning, preparing meals, gardening, cutting and stacking firewood, yard work, repairs and maintenance and construction projects. In exchange for 5 hours of help 5 days per week, Workawayers receive free room and board in our passive solar home, free utilities and internet, and free food and meals.
WE DO NOT CURRENTLY HAVE ANY PAID POSITIONS AVAILABLE.
For Workawayers helping with our CHEESE BUSINESS, we offer a paid internship program for tasks such as packaging cheese and helping in the cheese make room. We offer a wage inline with minimum wage in the area. Part of this may be offset by the cost of the accommodation offered and food, in accordance with local labor laws. All wages paid are subject to local employment laws. Please contact us for more information if this is an option you are interested in.
While we are flexible, we recommend a minimum two week stay to get a feel for life on the farm and for the Missouri Ozark Hills and all the area has to offer. Persons opting for the paid internship program are required to schedule a minimum stay of three weeks.
Accommodations are in the loft bedrooms of our passive solar home (see pictures). We have other lodging arrangements as needed. All food is provided.
There are many things to see and do in the area. While our farm is somewhat secluded, we are only 20 minutes from a fairly large city with all amenities of a big city. If you enjoy the outdoors, there are many rivers to float and fish, lots of hiking trails and area lakes. We have canoes available.
